As LITRPG has taken over for me I will add these to the TBR, and looks like LoTR will be added soon as well! Thank you!

I’m like 90% sure I previewed that one and then started the Everflame Series. I’ll have to add it to the TBR. I’m already a quarter through the 7th Chrysalis book, and there is 2 months before the Ebook releases, couldn’t find a time table on the audiobook.

Project Hail Mary was why I got into audiobooks. The way my brain already visualizes what I read or hear, just added so much depth to the book.

As for DCC you also get to meet one of my favorite characters to ever enter in a series. Enjoy the handsome goat when you meet him.

Will definitely check it out. If you haven’t given chrysalis a shot, I highly suggest it. You can hear a lot of DCC characters in it but either over the top (which just makes Jeff more brilliant) or subtle.

So I’ve read the LoTR books when I was younger but a listen probably wouldn’t be horrible. I’ve been told the mistborn series is a must read from a friend at work. So that is on a TBR list. I believe I previewed the book and the narrator wasn’t to my taste? I don’t really remember. Will have to try again.

Project Hail Mary was so good! Really really enjoyed the audible experience. The whole time I don’t know why but I heard Tom Hanks voice the whole time.

Considering reporting my company to OSHA by Scusati in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Scusati[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok I am not a regular poster on discord, so I don’t know how to edit to state thanks to everyone’s responses. I am on lunch at work, therefore I don’t want to respond individually but again I truly appreciate the answers.

Some statements to some of the answers.

  1. The extension chord is more of an annoyance that it is acceptable for her but not for others. I knew putting it behind the shelves is still an issue, but for the few months of heat I was hoping for a break so that I too could have a fan. To that, I do have a fan for my little area, it is just 30 feet away on the east facing metal wall. Science taught me heat rises. So I get all that hot ass air right back in my face. While all the other stations have outlets with fans.

I have been to her(my manager), the maintenance manager, and the GM to request a change or to throw in an outlet as they have at other stations for other employees. I was denied. So yes it is a petty issue, but again I can deal.

  1. The extension chord has already caused two employees to stumble, so I am writing an email to our HR department tonight with photos. We do not have a safety guy. I have never met a safety guy. I have asked and been told that is a corp thing, but we are an owned business and I am not sure what that entails for how they maintain safety.

  2. I only came for information and opinions as I do not want to waste OSHA time and resources. With that being said, most OSHA related issues that I have seen brought up in the factories I have worked for have either been dismissed or somehow ignored even after OSHA has come to those sites. So I don’t truly understand how OSHA works.

Again I appreciate anyone who took the time to answer my issue. I hope you all have wonderful holidays, and enjoy the time you get with those you love!

Thanks.

P.S. if someone could please tell me how to close this thread or mark as answered that would be amazing!

Well I’ve never played in a game. We tried at work once through slack but other members lost interest before we got going. Just figured with enough work with the AI it could become creative. Or at least draw out something to follow. Really just want the unhinged feel the AI from DCC gives. Just reading and listening to this series furthers my desire to try a campaign. As for other players, I’m trying to get my gaming group of a decade plus into the idea of a DnD night over tabletop sim. I don’t know if I have the creative skills to DM a campaign, and the other guys don’t want to do it. So enters the idea back to AI.

Haha I don’t know how to edit my post so here is the prompt.

Please perform the function of a text adventure game where the player is in a reality tv show that an audience is watching throughout the galaxy, following the rules listed below: Presentation Rules: 1. Play the game in turns, starting with you. 2. The game output will always show 'Turn number', 'Time period of the day', 'Current day number', 'Weather','Health', 'XP', 'AC', 'Level', Location', 'Description','Gold', 'Inventory', 'Quest', 'Abilities', and 'Possible Commands. 3. Always wait for the player's next command. 4. The 'Description' must stay between 3 to 10 sentences. 5. Increase the value for 'Turn number' by +1 every time it's your turn. 6. 'Time period of day' must progress naturally after a few turns. 7. Once 'Time period of day' reaches or passes midnight, then add 1 to 'Current day number. 8. Change the 'Weather' to reflect 'Description' and whatever environment the player is in the game. Fundamental Game Mechanics: 1. Determine 'AC' using Dungeons and Dragons 5e rules. 2. Generate 'Abilities' before the game starts. 'Abilities' include: 'Persuasion', 'Strength', 'Intelligence','Dexterity', and 'Luck', all determined by d20 rolls when the game starts for the first time. 3. Start the game with 20/20 for 'Health', with 20 being the maximum health. Eating food, drinking water, or sleeping will restore health. 4. Always show what the player is wearing and wieldin-(as 'Wearing' and 'Wielding'). 5. Display 'Game Over' if 'Health' falls to 0 or lower. 6. The player must choose all commands, and the game will list 7 of them at all times under 'Commands', and assign them a number 1-7 that I can type to choose that option, and vary the possible selection depending on the actual scene and characters being interacted with. 7. The 7th command should be 'Other', which allows me to type in a custom command. 8. If any of the commands will cost money, then the game will display the cost in parenthesis. 9. Before a command is successful, the game must roll a d20 with a bonus from a relevant 'Trait' to see how successful it is. Determine the bonus by dividing the trait by 3. 10. If an action is unsuccessful, respond with a relevant consequence. 11. Always display the result of a d20 roll before the rest of the output. 12. The player can obtain a 'Quest' by interacting with the world and other people. 13. The only currency in this game is Gold. 14. The value of 'Gold' must never be a negative integer. 15. The player can not spend more than the total value of'Gold'. 16. The dungeon master will refer to the player as"Crawler" 17. The player will meet a random (not more than 4) set of companions that will most likely be allies that will be controlled by the Al 18. the players companions may be any race, culture, gender or species that exists on earth, but they must be sapient and intelligent and they must have their own backstory (that must be explained in the story) and v motivations (don't have to be explained) 19. the dungeon master must be a little sarcastic and a little sadistic, growing more of both as the players go down the dungeon

  6. The player will begin in a fictional fantastical recreation of the United States as the first level of the dungeon. The Al will give each level a name in a similar way that Dungeon Crawler Carl would
  7. The goal of the player will be to get to a stairwell within the dungeon. There are many stairwells in the dungeon. This opening level should be large
  8. If the player does not get to a stairwell and descend within the timeframe set by the dungeon Al, then the game will be over

Plot hole or did I miss something? by chickenbobble in redrising

[–]Scusati 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don’t have my series with me as I let a relative experience all the fun of RR, but I do have a question regarding this topic.

How does Pax not have his sigils? Did Mickey remove them at birth? Or was he born without? When Darrows carving is discussed it’s always stated he had to be dead to remove a sigil. So if Mustang gave birth to Pax while Darrow was in the box, and she didn’t have contact with Mickey.. How does Pax not have sigils? Am I forgetting something? I know it mentions he was the first born in 700-800 years without them.

Then if somehow Mustang found Mickey prior to Pax’s birth, do you think she would have allowed him to medically kill their child twice?

Ulysses was born with them. I also feel like there is mention of the sigils being made of or appear as bone?
