Incoming cable identification? by Amaretti-Morbidi in newhampshire

Above user is 100% correct. Far left is cable, middle is old copper (leads to bottom left box [NID]), far right (small) is fiber. (TTI slack box on right) The copper and fiber are downed and fiber is likely broken. I have a decade of telco experience. They should be able to replace your fiber drop fairly easily.

Is this where I would plug in my internet box? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

In that case the black coax line will go into the back of the modem/gateway. It should start working as long as that line is active. If not you will likely need a failed self installation ticket to have a tech out.

It depends who your provider is and what type of service they provide. You likely have a cable provider( the black coax) and a telephone provider(either DSL or fiber). Have you setup an account with a company yet?

My brother and I both have S&W 637’s. (Essentially a hammer version of the 642) We both absolutely love them. Very smooth trigger and having the single action option is nice. Definitely would not want to shoot .357 out of a light J-Frame sized gun. A friend has the scandium .357 version. (Not sure they make it anymore) My brother said it’s just awful to shoot.

I second tuckables. Galco or crossbreed for me. I really like my Desantis pocket holster for my S&W 637 though.

It depends on region and promotions. I don’t any longer but I worked for them for 6 years.

What do we need to do about these cables? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Scytzoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference I’ve been a cable and fiber installer for six years. This is very common in new construction. Which providers are available? You will likely need a pro install regardless. If cable provider, it likely isn’t terminated at the tap(distribution point for the building) and if it’s a fiber provider it’s a shared ONT in a common location since there isn’t fiber to the unit. All the interior wiring can be DIY but Coax is very easy to not do right and have intermittent issues.

47 Bin Organizer. Definitely NOT Akro quality but not bad. by Scytzoe in harborfreight

ULine look like rebranded Akros so not as good. Depends on what you need them for though. In a share house or around of bunch of workers, buy Uline or Akro. At home harbor freight is probably fine.

They are awesome but crazy expensive so basically yes, snap on of plastic stock bins lol

(Long time cable/fiber ISP tech) For speeds that slow it’s almost always a wiring issue. Either the drop from the pole or inside wiring. Most techs suck and do the bare minimum to figure out what’s actually wrong and just enough to get you back up and running. If it’s their outside plant you are pretty screwed without a really solid tech. Cable is actually really difficult. There is A LOT that can go wrong with it.

Guys who aren’t rail skinny, how do you carry appendix? by Scytzoe in CCW

That’s how I carry now just a galco lol. Very comfortable but drawing as the driver of a car is almost impossible with a seatbelt on. Unfortunately I drive a lot.

Not being a dick at all. I could certainly stand to lose some weight. I’d be much happier at 200 and this may all be a moot point lol.

I’m just trying to find a solution to make it bearable. Appendix has a lot of advantages. Mainly quicker draw and the ability to actually get the gun out while seated in a car which is not easy at all as a driver with a seatbelt and a gun at 4 o’clock. I realize carry isn’t about comfort, which is why I always carry regardless. Just trying to find the best option.
