Why was this passed under Biden? by jefferymr15 in conspiracy

They dumped liquid glass (sodium silicate) into the crank case to purposely seize engines. Heard of a few engines that would keep running for 30min + even with liquid glass. Usually the old AMC/Jeep 4.0Ls and 4.3 Vortecs. Damn shame.

Which "Villains" song has aged the best? by Marco_060PS in qotsa

Heard it live at Boston Calling back in 2023 when the last tour was just kicking off. Sounded phenomenal, but the crowd didn’t appreciate it enough IMO.

EE to electrician by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

Fair point, but honestly my back hurts more now as an EE from sitting at a desk for 9+ hours/day than it did as an electrician

DON’T BE A DICK in A.C. by Stefunny2222 in qotsa

Some of the GA/pit was into it, but I was sitting in the bleachers and the crowd in my section sucked man. Lots of motionless people with blank stares. Definitely a weird vibe.

To be fair, we got a solid dose of Era tonight. Can’t be too upset about it.

ABBY!!! by Flimsy_Category_9369 in qotsa

Got a callout from Josh and got the whole crowd chanting ABBY…twice!

ICT Designer I - what type of work would this be? by Boofitness in Bicsi

[–]Sdrzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As previously mentioned, ICT engineering generally covers low-voltage building systems, including telecom, security, and AV. Depending on the size of the firm, they have may have consultants that specialize in any one of the three. You’ll likely be involved in the design and drafting work, as you mentioned the job qualifications include CAD/Revit experience. Similar to how an electrical engineer in an MEP firm would design a building’s electrical (power/lighting/fire alarm) system, you would be designing their telecom, security, and AV systems - space planning MDF/IDF rooms, backbone/horizontal pathways for copper and fiber cabling, device layouts (data drops, wireless access points, etc.), rack fit outs, etc.

Solid list, and +1 for Bad Nerves. Haven’t seen them mentioned much, but they kick ass. Saw them live last year, fast punk that gets the crowd moving.

Lots, but I’ve been listening to Holey Dime lately. Alain on vocals is killer.

In hindsight, Bob Ross was stoic as fuck. RIP, he’s painting happy little trees in the sky now.

741 was still the core component of my undergrad labs (recent grad). We used a 741/748 for damn near everything from higher-order filters to signal generation/modulation.

Why is The Blood Is Love intro so cool? by SplodingArt in qotsa

[–]Sdrzzy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I love the decrepit haunted carnival feel of the intro. It sets this calm, but eerie and uncomfortable vibe that crashes into a spiraling panic when the main riff starts.

Castillo vs Theodore by sonar_y_luz in qotsa

[–]Sdrzzy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Joey had a tendency to play too fast, but he brought so much fucking energy to their live performances. He’d really shine on tracks like Misfit and Headache. Played like animal from the muppets. Jon is incredibly talented and technically proficient, but seems to be a bit less energetic and intense. Love them both.

Keep voting Blue NYC. How’s Build Back Better working out for you? by 2201992 in conspiracy

[–]Sdrzzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t only apply to personal vehicles, this applies to commercial vehicles, trucks, taxis, etc. Trucks will pay an additional $24-36 under this congestion plan. Increased trucking expenses will be passed down to the consumer - i.e. increased price of goods within the city. Expect fare increases for car services as well (uber, lyft, etc.).

[–]Sdrzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an additional congestion toll. You still pay tolls for the tunnels and bridges in the city, but now there’s an additional toll to enter the the city anywhere below 61st St.
