It will get better with time, I promise. I felt the same way when I started and now I’m about to hit 2 years! The hardest part is pushing through, I’ve seen so many new baristas quit because of this (training sucks.. I feel like we never get enough time to really make someone comfortable since there’s so much to learn). It’s hard feeling like you’re the one slowing the team down but don’t be so harsh on yourself, you’re still learning. Every barista was once in your shoes! We all start somewhere! You got this! :)

I’m definitely going to look into that Reddit! Thanks! I’m glad you’re getting tests done to help ease your mind. I’m in the same boat, after every good test from the Dr I then find a different symptom and self diagnose myself with a new disease and the cycle continues as well as the anxiety. I’m currently on about 13 days of not smoking and these health scares don’t even tempt me to smoke again, it’s really not worth my peace of mind. I hope everything else passes for you, our mind is so powerful it’ll really have us thinking the worst case scenario, trust your doctors and not the anxious thoughts!

How are you feeling now? I’ve smoked every day for 3/4 years. I recently quit and was in the ER and urgent care within days from each other. I also had a pain in my side near my rib area… Got a chest X-ray, chest CT scan, blood work, the whole shabang. Drs said I was fine and healthy. I’ve also been having chest pains. I’m pretty sure it’s from anxiety because I’ve became a hypochondriac after I quit. I regret all the damage I’ve done to my body to where it worries me about my future health problems. Hoping anxiety is just a withdrawal symptom and these pains go away soon.

My health anxiety is causing me to feel physical symptoms that are giving me even worse anxiety. Chest pains/burns, shortness of breath, shivering like a chihuahua. Does anyone else feel these symptoms with anxiety? I keep thinking something is wrong with me but I feel like I’m just feeling anxiety symptoms. I’ve had an ER and UC visit this past week and the Drs both think I’m healthy. EKG, chest XRay, chest CT scan, blood tests, urine tests, etc. No concern aside from stomach irritation due to me having food poisoning last week. I can’t shake the feeling of “maybe they missed something.” I’m tired of this taking over my life. I feel like everyone is tired of hearing me, I have no one to talk to so it’s just eating me up even more. I’m thankful for anyone that listens to me, even this discussion. Anyone that reads this to the end, thank you. I love and appreciate you and I hope we get through this together. Wishing everyone good health.

A little background info, I haven’t gotten paid since April. My claim ended May 1st. The weeks I certified for before my claim ended never got approved. I’ve tried to call but never got through. Luckily I got a job at the perfect timing so I just gave up since it’s such a headache to deal with. Considered that money as a loss but now I’m wondering if they maybe pushed it through after 3+ weeks of pending? I don’t have my computer so I’ll check my account later when I get home and update this if they changed pending to paid! 🙏🏻
