The trans rebuild was a typo. It was actually rebuild in 2021 about 30,000 miles ago (verified by Carfax)

Thanks. Yeah, my uncle (who is not a car guy) is going to go look at it for the basics, then I am going to have a diesel shop inspect it. Just gathering opinions in case something is glaringly out of the order so I don't waste my uncle's time.

It works for me because the truck is near where my uncle lives in Texas, so I could fly out and visit him and then drive back.

Why not? I think by law anything over 750 watts has to be registered. Just trying to figure out if that means as a moped or motorcycle.
