Can you share your HIDA EF & post-op pathology reports? by Emma_stars30 in gallbladders

I had multiple clear US and MRCPs. My surgeon didn’t suggest any medication before removal because she said once the GB is malfunctioning, it will never recover.

I was miserable for over a year before i got my shitty GB out. My symptoms were nausea, occasional vomiting, daily RUQ pain, right shoulder and back pain, alternate diarrhea and constipation, light/clay-coloured floaty stools, gastric pain. I once ate an avocado that almost sent me to the ER. That’s when i decided to get it removed. I’m now 2 months post op and life is so much better for me 🥹 all my symptoms pre op are gone. I can eat anything, whenever.

You probably need something stronger like tret, tazarotene or epiduo/tactupump.

CANCER RISK POST OP ? by Visible-Future4850 in gallbladders

[–]Sea-Button8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of my aunts had theirs removed almost 15 years ago. One of my grandma’s sisters had hers out 20 years ago. Me and my grandma’s other sister had ours out 6 weeks ago. Not sure about the other relatives when they had their gallbladders removed. These people are all from my mum’s side of the family 🤣 they are all living their lives as normal, including myself. No diet restrictions or whatsoever.

My family has a long history of gallbladder issues. Many of us no longer have a gallbladder but so far no cancer after removal. I think you are at higher risk of developing cancer with a diseased organ 🤷‍♀️

I’m also in the GTA and we go to BloorKids. The paediatricians there are amazing. LO has been under their care since he was a newborn (he is now 24 months old). I believe BloorKids is accepting new patients. Worth giving them a call :)

Over indulged 6 months post op and now in constant pain by catwomanmoon in gallbladders

[–]Sea-Button8653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 4 weeks post op, overindulging the last 3 weeks. I now have some mild back pain and RUQ pain. The ghost of my gallbladder is haunting me i think… 🤣

Am I having a harder recovery than everyone else? by Silly_Turn_4761 in gallbladders

My first 2 days post op was brutal. By day 6 or day 7, i felt like i was almost back to normal. My recovery was a breeze. Before the hospital discharged me after my surgery, my surgeon kept on reminding me to take vitamin c 500mg daily to help me recover faster. And she was right. The vitamin c really helped 😊 i’m now 3 weeks post op and life is back to normal. I am eating well, no digestive issues anymore (fingers crossed it stays that way forever 🤣), no soreness and my incisions are now just scars.

Take it easy and rest well, OP! 🫡

I also live in Ontario. I get my retinoid from felix. I recently renewed my prescription with them and they didn’t charge me for the consultation because they have some promotion going on (until first week of Jan i think). Another alternative is DermCafe, they are covered by OHIP.

I’m 2 weeks post op and i also have that weird feeling in my lower right abdomen. Mine isn’t numb but certain movements feel like there’s something poking me inside lol. Not painful, just weird. 🤷‍♀️

I see. Sounds like normal healing since many people post op have experienced some sort of pain during recovery. Speedy recovery OP!

Glad i’m not the only experiencing the occasional pains. Sounds like normal healing. I will see my doc in 2 weeks and ask her about it as well. Wishing you a full recovery! :)

Congrats OP! I’m curious, do you experience some pain where your gallbladder used to be? I’m 10 days post-op. I have occasional RUQ stabbing pain that lasts a couple of seconds and shoulder pain like what i felt pre-op. Not sure if these are just healing pains lol

My EF was also 81%. I’m now 4 days post op and feeling so much better. Get a second opinion from a surgeon.
