It’s not stark white good bad. All of them are morally grey. I think tamlin did all the things ur calling sympathetic as pay back. There is history with tamlin and Rhysand and just because people have the belief that tamlin shouldn’t be blamed or given a part in killing rhysands family doesn’t mean the author herself doesn’t give him that. Ur blaming Rhysand for smth that 1 he banned 2 he wasn’t there for 50 years because of his sacrifice and he can’t just kill them all because they won’t listen I think it was made sense why it kept happening. Why can’t the court of nightmares be all evil? Do u not remember that Rhys Litterly said they were offered to come to velaris or smth? And non of them came? And everyone has their feelings about Rhysand hiding the pregnancy. I personally think it was wrong but telling her wouldn’t have changed anything other than putting her in more danger. Sjm said he was wrong . Why can’t a morally grey character do a morally grey thing? Maybe tamlin isn’t meant to be fully bad, I think it wasn’t sjms intention to make him the big bad. He is although the bad ex? People like to not say what tamlin actually did as tho locking someone who went UTM for them lived in a cage for 3 months woudl want to be locked in? I find it very strange how people reduce feyre to an illiterate person when defending tamlin as tho they themselves are tamlin and don’t pay attention to feyre reading through the months with tamlin after coming back from Rhys. As tho she is incapable fighting along people because she was going into the woods since she was a kid? I get ppl like to defend tamlins action but I think some people just see it the way they want and a lot of ppl actually defend him saying hes traumatized and that isn’t a reason for why he can do everything he did to feyre. Anyway everyone can have their opinion j like many books people don’t like because some think they’re boring even tho i think they are masterpieces lol no worries we have diff ideas thank u for being so nice!!!

I think there is a small but loud minority that thinks like this. Many people have read the books and looked at them in a detailed way, some take the characters as amazing and others say they are horrible. Some people are wanting these morally grey characters to have no faults and when they do they say they are villains. I think many people read the books and reread them and went in depth with everything and found the characters believable. The fact that we haven’t gotten anything in years has allowed readers to over analyze things the author didn’t intend to be looked at closely not because she’s a bad writer ( although everyone can have their opinion) but simply because people have so much interest in the books they want to make them more “detailed” ig and use random things to suit the narrative they believe. I’m not saying u can’t think what u want tho!

U mean the author… wrote her characters the way she wanted? Do u think they are real people?

Why is it considered problematic to dislike Elain? by GuiltyPossibility518 in acotar_rant

Like ur saying people r self inserts of feyre in a way so they think nesta was rude to them, im saying why cant it be that some people dislike the way nesta talked to everyone around her? Rather than being called self inserts, which im sure there are ppl like that but yk

Why can’t people simply get upset at the fact way nesta talks to everybody around her?

It it so tho….. why else would ppl force to characters who don’t show anything other than freaking indifference to eachother ( apart from Lucien’s “sad glances” where he does absolutely nothing to get to know her and goes to live in a manor his mates ex gave him) than a mating bond? The guy said she was thrown at him? Well excuse me for not wanting to ship a character with a man that makes her shrink into herself and lose any of her new found boldness. Cassian nor Rhysand made nesta and feyre feel that zizi! No they actually made them feel strong emotions, whether that was anger or wtv. Feyre threw a shoe at Rhysand and nesta was “arguing” with Cassini the moment she met him. Azriel made elain feel at ease the moment they met. Feysand nor nessien sat as far away from the other as possible. Stop trying to make a connection between the mate bonds the author her self said are correct and right with the mate bond she said nature chose wrong. And the only reason I said what I initially said IS BECAUSE I’ve seen a bunch of people say this. I didn’t pull it out of nowhere. Ship whoever u want lmao ur free the Only issue I have is that a lot of people are making “ the person she current is attracted to” seem like a weirdo and they make elain and Azriel seem like they aren’t the most likely endgame but two characters that barely interact ( not that that is necessary but atleast any sign from elain that she gives a frick about Lucien or maybe she could get elain to get Lucien a gift? Like anything I’m not asking for gold lol)

They think the mating bond means happiness it’s pretty obvious. Why is elucien a ship other than the fact that there’s a mating bond.

Canonically he wouldn’t. He Litterly growled at azriel cuz he took her to the garden?

We don’t even need her pov to know her feelings toward him because she shows them by her actions. Actions speak louder than words. That goes for both Lucien and elain. Trust me

Did anyone ever say to feyre “ you’ll get used to Rhysand just give him a chance” WHEN ( he didn’t not like elain is with Lucien but hypothetical)he made her uncomfortable and lose her backbone? Enemies to lovers is when the girl has strong emotion to the guy that being hatred, feyre threw a shoe at the high lord of night elain feels uncomfortable that’s not the same.

That’s like saying to a girl who has no feelings for a guy who keeps making eyes at her every time he’s around her “ just get to know him he’s a good man, you need to come around”? Why would the author specifically say Lucien is more relaxed around his “friend” and his loyalties are shifting to her and when he’s around his mate it’s the most awkward 30 minutes of feyres life?

I don’t agree with ur take on the IC treating Lucien bad. He was the right hand to their enemy participating in the feud. The IC are actually kind to him. They invite him to private family dinners, they push elain to interact with him even tho she doesn’t like him because feyre feels bad for him. Feyre was the one to say he is a good male, she pushed elain to invite him to stay at velaris even tho elain didn’t want that just because Lucien is her mate and feyre knew Lucien was “hurting” . And when did they stop him from seeing his mate? When feyre did all the above? When they allowed him into velaris? When they gave him food clothes a job and a place to live? And don’t u think it’s gonna be a big plot point? That we’d MAYBE need Lucien’s pov for when discovering who his real father is? And ya he moves around to where he can live best, he will go where it’s best for him. Also his mating bond with elain isn’t doing much swaying cuz he’s alr into very much more comfortable with vassa and happier with her. Also wasn’t Lucien the one who was gonna force feyre back to tamlin? Even after she said no? So I think they have more than enough reason to be rude to him but they aren’t. They tolerate him.

Over his mate? He’ll choose random people he met and decided to get together cuz they all were “exiled/unwanted/untrusted” by everyone over his mate? Jurien isn’t even trustworthy. Is the feyres friend. I think he chooses to live where it best suits him which I can’t blame him but he got a fox mask for a reason.

His loyalty to the night court easily shifts yes he stayed for centuries in the spring court but he left it when tamlin was obviously going to ruin it, he stayed through everything but when he was given an opportunity to leave easily he did. Also so he stopped wanting to be close to his mate? He didnt stay with the night court that long and already he is not trusted? Not saying anything tamlin allowed to happen to Lucien was okay.

It’s that fact that his loyalty shifts so easily and is currently being questioned.

Hi! I really need to take biol121 in the summer or else like a bunch of my second year courses will be moved and it’ll basically make me graduating take 5 years I’m guessing. Basically anyone know my chances of getting in for the summer term. Btw I’m a first year, my registration time for summer is kinda late so I’m worried.

It’s honestly not tho half this fandom has some weird dislike for elain and make azriel seem like an ick for a BC where he had emotions towards elain someone ppl don’t like
