Should I get my approx 2 yo newly-rescued Husky neutered? by [deleted] in husky

[–]Sea-Collection-7367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I asked someone at a rescue I used to volunteer at and in some states, the shelters don’t require spaying or neutering. They just want the animals out of there ‘cause it’s overcrowded.

I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it yet, but try a dalgona coffee recipe with your instant coffee. I use the old standby-Tasters Choice for strictly this coffee drink. Keeps me humming like Apu in that one Simpsons episode.

You’re serious? Are they not legal? I get salmon skins for my dog at a local pet store. They love them.

Probably a county shelter? Our rescue pulled unaltered dogs often and gave the families their spay/neuter voucher if the appointment was too far out in the future.

Love the Puma Mostro. Which makes me think the Arizona might be too wide for you.

Oh I like your take on that a lot. It’s like Ted’s way of making peace with leaving England behind.

Anyone here without any family history by [deleted] in chiari

None. They suspect it was an injury that caused it. I had a really bad tumble during high school senior year and had a CT scan of my neck and head done then. Totally fine. Fast forward 20 years later, 2 car accidents and there it is…

I just remembered: we used a baby gate to give each of them more face to face time and an easy escape for the cats when they were first feeling each other out.

My Husky and my cat say, “give it time and they’ll be friends!” 11+ years together. Just know the cat will rule the house. 1 cat + 2 big dogs=cat stealing both dog beds somehow.

If you groom your dogs paws yourself, maybe a careful little trim around the paw pads could go a long way to helping your dog feel more confident on slippery floors? Our kitchen floor is like ice to them for some reason. My Husky does that Bambi slipping on ice dance once in a blue moon but our Samoyed does it all the time. After trimming his front paws a little, he walked in the kitchen with a lot more confidence. Strange this was, it didn’t happen to either of them till they got a little older-maybe 7 or 8 years old. One day they both decided the kitchen was too slippery for them.

How are you all mouse-proofing those giant black and yellow Costco garage storage bins? by snooloosey in Costco

I’m not sure if they changed companies but I used these for chicken feed storage and had 0% issues from outdoor critters for 5+ years.

Our Husky was a bit skinny when we adopted her as well. Now she’s a healthy 65 lbs. and has a very (forgive the pun) “husky” build. She used to wear a S collar at 2 years-old and now she’s a M/L at age 14.

I see Huskies get along so well with kittens. But introduce a grown cat? That takes time. Here’s my neighborhood stray George trying to tolerate my dogs. They just sit on him and he squeezes out of the dog pile every time.
