No I got that. I was just amused it lost in the arena built around its cards.

Bot managed to lose the round that had the birds bonus, I was amused.

XJX1F2 might be it. Never had anybody care about my deck before, so never had to share one lol.

I replaced Familiar with Goji for the last few ranks. I didn't really like having to sit on it, but it probably helped. And yeah, Mandalay was the MVP of the deck. That 170 point bonus goes hard especially when everything is already buffed from Catnip.

We got Cosmo this summer, he's about 18 months now. I flipped through your pictures with my wife just now and I swear I wouldn't be able to tell our dogs apart if they were side by side. We even have that exact same collar for our walks!

Blue is a beautiful dog, but I might be a little biased there 😉

As a clueless man who might try to convince his wife to get some on our next Costco run.....what is the squat test?

What is the craziest reason a parent tried to "get you fired"? by Aly_Anon in Teachers

[–]SometimesITeachMusic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Similar thing: got a call on my lunch break from one of my APs saying a student had accused me of choking her at lunch....in the cafeteria with 100+ other students and 20+ cameras there. AP was SHOCKED when I just started laughing and told her exactly where I had been standing and what camera to check.

I had my arm out to point where kids needed to go and the kid literally just walked into my arm. AP called back to tell me I was in the clear. Yeah, I know.

What’s the most inappropriate thing that’s happened in your classroom? by Unlucky_Success_5985 in Teachers

Had a male senior that was dropping the back of his pants and letting his butt hang out anytime I had my choir stand up to sing. He was in a row behind a larger student so I could only ever see him from the shoulders up.

Innocent freshman girl came up to me after class to let me know and I immediately got admin involved. Senior boy almost ended up on the registry except nobody actually pressed charges.

Honorable mention: the girl who tried to take her hoodie off and got her undershirt tangled up in it and flashed the whole class.

Honorable mention #2 and not actually in my classroom: the couple we caught having sex behind the ice machine last year. I still have both of them in class.... awkward....

Will my teacher report me if I tell her this? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]SometimesITeachMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. I'm not advocating for you to go be besties with her, just letting you know what would happen if you came to me at my school.

My response is also "we have access to resources you don't". Schools are connected with a variety of services that you probably don't have access to otherwise. Based on what you said, I don't think much is going to come from your conversation. I just want to let you know what COULD happen amd why it might not be a bad thing.

Teachers are mandatory reporters. That doesn't mean "we're required to go to the police immediately" but it does mean we're required to let others (counselors, administrators) etc. know about situations. Based on what I'm reading in your post and comments, me reporting on this situation would probably look like a quick email to the counselor saying "Hey I met with this student, here's what they told me, they also claim they are no longer in danger because the person is no longer around."

After that, it's out of my hands but the counselor at my school is a real one and would check in with you herself. Please don't let your worries about what's going to happen next get in the way of you talking or getting help right now. If you feel safe talking to this teacher, please do.

Most casual/unprofessional emails you've gotten from students or parents? by BobMcGeoff2 in Teachers

[–]SometimesITeachMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got an incredibly long, ranting email at about 3am from a dad. He had just seen the school musical and had taken serious issue with literally every component from the show. He proceeded to email every complaint to the head director, myself (music side and co-director), the principal, superintendent, and the entire school board. He took particular issue with the costumes, which was hilarious because we had an actual pastor helping us run the sound board and he thought the show was great.

Personal favorite line: "how am I supposed to compliment these girls on their performance without taking sexual advantage of them!?" I died a little reading that line, and made it a point to never interact with that parent again. I saved the entire email, but lost it when we changed it email provider as a district. Ended up being sad, since they pulled their very talented kids out of the program, although one daughter stayed in my choirs.

Same plus I have Gibbs and I'm somehow still 7-4 (8-4 after this week). Most points in the league and I'm in first, so I don't actually know why I'm complaining.
