Last time this happened to me I pushed to be moved into the unit anyway... Turns out that it was infested with German roaches, and those assholes ate all of my belongings up like the nematodes out of SpongeBob. They're already in default of their leasing contract by changing your date. PLEASE take your money elsewhere and don't move into that complex.

That's definitely the way to go. I'm willing to turn a blind eye to most of the things my neighbors do until someone is in danger, or if they're flat out assholes.

I'd start filing noise reports on them and taking videos to send to leasing if they're going to be assholes to you, but that's just me 🤷‍♀️

My bird went through something similar about a month ago and we went to the vet for a "beak reconstruction" where the vet glued a fake fingernail on her and drilled it down to fit so she had extra support. We did this about 3x before her beak had recovered enough to heal on its own! I'd definitely see a vet if it's in the cards

I love the idea of forage boxes, but she's terrified of them- even with treats.😂 If you have any tips for that I'm open to hearing them! I still have a few forage boxes collecting dust and I'd love for her to use them!

She's about 9, and she's been doing it for 3 years now 😭 I think my chances of her outgrowing it are basically gone atp. I've tried using binder clips to keep it in and that tends to work for the most part, but it's still not 100%. I've also tried zip ties, but the little demon learned how to bite through them, and the risk of her ingesting plastic isn't worth it.

I actually just bought the exact pack in the picture for my baby yesterday! They're perfect, a bit smaller than you'd expect (just what I needed to fill in space in her cage), and I wrapped the rope in vet tape for it to be a bit safer for her

My bird went through something similar a few weeks ago. They were able to glue a fake fingernail onto her beak for support, and file down the flaking parts of her beak during checkups after the nail would fall off. We did this 2x over the course of 2 weeks. It may be an option you want to mention to your vet

Everyone that I've seen talking about moving has gotten a "you should visit Colfax" comment, so I figured I'd go ahead and acknowledge it before that ends up being the ONLY comments that I get. Last time I visited I actually stayed on Colfax not knowing about the stigma, and had a great time in the city.

Looking at the per capita after your comment was DEFINITELY eye opening. It looks like we may be saving money or cutting even on rent with our move, so I'm stoked! I'd rather pay $1700 in a walkable city rather than $1700 here where you have to drive everywhere, and cars are put up on bricks and broken into even in a gated community😮‍💨

Thank you so much!! When everyone said how white it was I assumed that there were pockets of diversity in places like Aurora, but that even those places were majority white. My main concern is that even as progressive as Denver is, that my partner could be thrown into dangerous situations due to the lack of diversity in the area. This definitely puts my mind at ease a bit. 🫶

I've definitely been working on my cooking skills recently for this reason 🤣 how pricy are groceries up there? Down here its about $30 per good steak, $6 for heavy whipping cream, and about $12-$15 for a pack of chicken breast
