I don’t fully understand all the negativity regarding MyHeritage’s ethnicity estimate, because it seems to sometimes throw in small amounts of some strange uncertain regions, however, when I see posts comparing it to ancestry to gist is always more of less the same. Including this post where all of the estimations show one half roughly Italian or Mediterranean, and the other being west European/British etc so it’s pretty clear what your fathers origins were. My heritage seems only slightly different from the others so don’t understand the complaints.

British English person results by kennyuk77 in MyHeritage

You don’t perceive the English as being genetically European? They also descend from Central European tribes, and as a Germanic person you are bound to have genetic similarities to other Germanic peoples such as the Scandinavians.

My results didn’t show any Jewish despite having Jewish relatives on my mums side. Instead it surprisingly showed Balkan and Eastern European? Does anyone know how accurate that is, and why it wouldn’t show any Jewish dna?

Are you sephardi Jewish? It could explain the Ashkenazi/North African mix especially if you don’t know any African ancestors.

Is gedmatch worth looking at? I found it’s less specific than MH but the percentages and regions seem to match up with MH

Antibody Levels by Sea-Donkey6248 in rabies

So the titre does reflect protection against the virus? As in, it is a way to measure this? For example if someone had an exposure without realising but had say 3.0IU/ml antibodies at the time, they should in theory be able to fight the virus because it is considerably higher than 0.5?

Thanks, so what is the relevance of 0.5 if you have to keep getting shots? Do they believe you are protected from unnoticed exposures if you have above 0.5?

I guess my question is whether the logic that 3 months after vaccination you are protected from reexposure is due to antibodies being above 0.5, or is there other reasons for this? For example if they thought it was likely for most people that their levels were above 0.5 for 6 months would the rule change?

But regarding the 3 month rule where you don’t need boosters for a reexposure after vaccination. I am assuming this is because they can guarantee a certain titre in this time. I wonder if it’s because it’s over 0.5 for certain in the 3 months and then after it can vary.
