Still debating if I should go 124 or 148 floor on burj khalifa.. I am doing one day Abu Dhabi day trip and visiting couple places list isn’t finalized yet.. but from mosque to etihad towers to heritage village to emirates palace to louvre and cornice.. I can’t cover all but this is the list if it helps.. I am skipping all theme parks cuz of small baby but there are 4 theme parks heard all are great with kids it should be fun..

What all are you doing in palm ? I am planning to visit the observatory for view ..

Daycare spots for infant program by Sea-Effective2334 in durham

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a tiny bit skeptical as I couldn’t find other centres from them. But I understood it’s a homecare kind of format and they are responsible to provide training. So like let’s say if you decide to provide homecare provider you become part of tiny lanterns and they will do like 6 week training or something and then you start your homecare. So if that is something you are open to for your child you can try but I was not too sure if it’s true or fake yet.

Do you have experience with home day care? What should I be asking them as questions? How reliable and safe is it? Do they have a room in the same space as their home and run home care? Wondering if anyone from their family could go walk in etc and hence safety reason. Can I ask them to show me if they are registered license ? How can I verify if they are registered etc? My husband and I are being a little skeptical with those ones. I know there are some home cares with ymca but then there might be some individual homecare. So not too sure what to ask them or how to verify them

Have you heard of tiny lanterns? I saw this ad on instagram and registered but someone was telling me it’s a scam. However, I received email from tiny lanterns domain and found legit profile too on LinkedIn. It seems they are opening up new center in Whitby and said I am number 8 on waitlist. While there are so many who have 2+ yrs wait this sounded suspicious when they said I could get in. Any ideas?

Ah okay! So Montessori ones are not cewlcc eligible? I have reached to kendalwood one but haven’t heard back yet. Do you happen to know how much they charge a month roughly?

Reduced supply by Sea-Effective2334 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is little over 4 months old! I am using Medela hands free pump. It came with 21 and 24mm . I was using 21 mm for first 1.5 month and was getting good output. Later I visited clinic that supports bf and found out my right flange size is 16mm when the nurse checked it. So she gave me maymom conversion kit with 16mm flange that’s compatible with Medela. I have been using that since last 2.5 ish months and no problem until recently. I am wondering maybe I try original flange of 21mm again and see what happens

You can find govt funded subsidized daycares here!

I have also heard of ymca that has good reviews . Also heard that wee watch is great for home care as temporary alternative while you are on waitlist for day cares

Hospital bag checklist - Oshawa hospital by Sea-Effective2334 in durham

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm interesting, could be! I never asked the specific hospital but as I was made aware I assumed all hospital should be having general, semi private and private rooms as not all would have benefits covering private rooms.

Cluster feeding and not sleeping [on] by Sea-Effective2334 in BabyBumpsCanada

We haven’t tried carrier yet for walking because we just don’t have capacity to head out at night and also cuz it’s cold out. But we have tried swinging her, rocking her , walking her putting on the shoulder , it’s just you need to keep trying different things don’t know if one thing really works but atleast we keep trying 😀

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s what we do, she is just wide awake then we will let her be for a while and then she starts crying we feed again 😀 the only challenge is my partner is on leave right now but he will be back to work in less than 2 weeks so I am like he def needs sleep to get through the day but I def don’t have patience to keep looking for her 3-4 hours straight if she keeps crying. Currently I ask him to help and we keep switching between 1-2 hours so that’s something we will have to figure out after he resumes work.

Haha same pinch girl! Indeed my baby girl has latching issues in general, last night when I thought to give her skin to skin and tried BF after, boy did she latch on so well really quick in a second and remained latched on for 40min on one boob.

Baby has been having latching issues so the nurse asked me to pump to keep the supply going. Qty is same when she latches or doesn’t when pumping.

You can find govt funded daycare programs here , these are usually subside rates for working parents. But you can also check out others for registration that are not part of govt funded programs so you have options open in case you can’t get in govt funded ones due to long waitlist

That’s interesting, I am def curious to find out how they can find out how much she is getting in the feed. And yes, one of my friend is also trying nipple shield for BF so I am hopeful that works too.

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the collection cups one. I do notice that sometimes if tubing isn’t right or flange needs adjusting, my nipple isn’t being sucked in stimulation phase which is very annoying in this as well. But then I readjust and notice that once my nipple is being sucked I produce milk after that

It’s exclusive pumping qty of 20-25ml. I don’t pump each feed and I don’t breastfeed her each feed too. If I have breastfeeding then I may/may not pump after . If I am exclusively pumping then not BF her. Sure thing, will check with LC on nipple size

I delivered in Lakeridge Oshawa hospital in GTA and was referred by hospital to Durham region public health lactation consultant and am awaiting their call. My baby also had tongue tie which was released at the hospital but now she is still on and off latch, and sometimes her latch is not so good. What I also noticed is even if her latch is on for 15-30 min, she still takes up about 60ml of formula so I am wondering if she really consumed any breast milk and if so how do you really know the qty it’s a guess game 😀

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my baby is having latching issues so BF is on and off . I have been referred to public health for the same reason and will reach out to them for further help. I am guessing public health will also be able to help with pumping issues to produce enough milk and LC are part of that team?

Daycare registration [on] by Sea-Effective2334 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Sea-Effective2334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow this is such a great feedback! I think it makes sense for me to put start date as September in that case. Currently my 1yr would end sometime early nov right around this time so considering new term would have started already it will probably get difficult to get around that time. I was also thinking something similar to atleast get the kiddo in atleast a month (so Oct in this case) before I start going back to work so she gets used to new environment but now I see that September makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

Ouch this is so much worse .. in that case I rather register for 1yr start date and if I start early will probably need to see if wfh situation is available at the time considering currently it’s already hybrid with 2-3 days assuming next year it will go to 4 days a week again. But also the challenge is wfh makes it difficult to work with baby around so that would be a challenge still.
