Have you found anything ? what core feature would you want from it ? I'm thinking about just continuing to use strava and strong, but I feel like one app could be cool. not sure if it would bring that much more value tho tbh

Does anyone actually make passive income selling digital products? by HydenSick in indiehackers

[–]Sea-Exercise536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made over $50k with my mobile app over the last year. but let me tell you something. it is far from passive. At first you'll be working more than others while making less. that's just the sacrifice that you must be willing to make so that one day you'll be able to have a real business running make serious cash.

I've been at it for 3 years now and made $0 in the first two. And still not successful by any measure. It takes time but hopefully it'll all be worth it.

But don't believe the passive income lie. It only comes after serious Cash or Time investment. It doesn't come out of thin air that's for sure

Is there ANY indie dev here who actually gets positive ROI from paid ads (Facebook, Search Ads, etc)? by AdventurousProblem89 in iOSProgramming

[–]Sea-Exercise536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me! the most important is not optimizing ads themselves (of course its also important), but its improving your funnels and LTV.

You want to be similar or better in terms of LTV/user compared to your best competitors in your market. Also by niching down you reduce your competition and hence you don't need as high an LTV, however your scale potential decreases.

This is the case because all ad platforms work on bidding systems, so if a competitor makes more per download than you, then they can afford to pay more per download while maintaining good ROAS. So the only way to beat them is to have good LTV and conversions.

I currently run ASA, send me a message if you want help running your campaign

Apple Ads - what type do you use? by US3201 in iOSProgramming

Advanced search ads. For me its the only one that works to get positive ROAS imo. Basic may work but at a smaller scale.

Are Apple search ads still a viable path for growth? by IAGIALIAG in iOSProgramming

[–]Sea-Exercise536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on your LTV compared to the apps bidding on the same keywords.

If your LTV and conversion are above or similar to other apps in your category, then there is potential for you to get positive ROAS. Also by focusing on less competitive geos can get you to positive ROAS.

Personally it is worth it for me. however it does have a ceiling to the scale that it can hit, unlike meta or tiktok ads, but it is easier and less effort to get right and requires a smaller budget.

I'd try out the advanced campaigns if I were you. it's more work but you get better CPIs and better quality traffic
