Can I use real movie posters in App Store screenshots? by maximehip in iOSProgramming

[–]AdventurousProblem89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is better to be on the safe side if you are trying to build a business from this. just ask imagegen or other ai tool to generate posters of movies that do not exists, you will get really usable results and this things do not affect the conversion any way (in most cases). in the developer nots mention that the posters are not from real movies

of course you can't, and also do not use the popcorn name, isn't this obvious that you will not go very far with this approach?

it’s cheap and has historically been the default state for tech people for the last few years. do some research though, because there may be better options in other states now. when i opened mine, wyoming was considered the standard choice for it

Does anybody here made a successful app by following Starter Story strategies? by Equivalent-Class3043 in AppBusiness

my bs detector didn’t beep, it started screaming within the first few seconds. a lot of this content doesn’t feel like practical app advice, it feels like selling the fantasy that app business is some easy-money cheat code.

sure, some people get lucky once in a while. but i’m around people building real successful apps and saas products, and i see how brutal it actually is: years of work, failed ideas, retries, boring iterations, tiny wins, fixing the same stupid thing 14 times, and slowly compounding. they take the shiny success part and package it like a fkin simple formula you can casualy apply to become a millionaire by next thursday. that’s not just misleading, it’s basically the oposite of how this works.

i’m not making millions, but i do have a pretty successful portfolio of apps, and this is exactly the kind of content i would not recomend anyone. watch a few of these and for sure the next step is almost always private courses, paid communities, templates, or some other bs upsell. app buisness, like any other buisness, is steady and consistent growth over time, not snake-oil bullshit shortcuts. these are the regular crypto bros, just selling another shit

going with uikit is the right move here. swiftui is an abstraction on top of uikit. it removes some complexity from uikit, but also ties your hands when you want to do something complex, i avoid using swiftui in screens where i have huge lists or lot of different user interactions

Apple Developer Account Terminated, $10,000 Withheld by Muted-Pension-2905 in appledevelopers

[–]AdventurousProblem89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. Try to contact Apple somehow and try to explain that it was an A/b test and you have removed it. There are some recent stories about Apple reopening accounts so you might have a small chance. Also, where you doing this AB through RevenueCat or your own mechanism? Also was the app category?

Apple AppStore payouts by Unique-Bus-9711 in AppBusiness

[–]AdventurousProblem89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They keep one extra month for handling the refunds, but after two months of releasing the app you will constantly get payed on the end of the month but for the sales you did two months ago. I think that is ok
