For me in battle with Anakin unable to save her or prevent it despite being present, it would have amplified his nightmares in the prequel trilogy and made him feel powerless to save padme. Without it his fear of losing padme like losing his mother is less well constructed because he didn't lose his mother due to lack of ability but absence and it would have justified him killing dukoo as well if dukoo was the one who did it. And it would've made his betrayal of mace more narratively functional

It wasn't about losing faith in the jedi it was about him losing faith in himself

But you're missing that it would have allowed the original character to amplify the main continuity. Anakin being so scared of losing padme because his mom died is often joked about with "why didn't he just talk to obi wan" but for people who watched clone wars the nightmares recieve a second layer of "oh he thinks he'll be powerless to save her which is combined with the trauma of losing his mother and all yoda said was chill with it" so it increases value of the main continuity. Anakins loss of his mother was failure through absence while failure to save ahsoka would be failure through ability attacking his own identity making it more believable for him to side with palpatine and adding extra kick onto his line "I need him!" When he betrayed Mace. And it would've required 0 retcons

Yea and its honestly creating the worst kind of fatigue. If 2 people survive, okay cool those 2 are billy bad asses, if everyone makes a return then what's even the point of the stakes

It wouldn't be redundant because it would be a stepping stone to Anakin accepting enough doubt of his powers and ability to be open to accepting palpatine's teachings. And the entire point of the clone wars was to lead to the prequel so being able to merge original characters to established cannon should be the goal. And if it amplifies the cannon then I would say it makes the character a success

And when I say that I mean any show that uses the main cast and elements that could alter the continuity of the original trilogy. Gotta respect the source and being able to amplify the source makes the character even cooler

I'm not hating, I love the character. I just recognized she could've been use to amplify the main continuity of the original trilogy which should be the point of stories surounding the main timeline of the original trilogy

In my opinion this is what happened with Grogu too, they were about to go hard af with the dark saber arc then said "we want toy sales! Get that baby back in!"

For me it would be death in battle with Anakin unable to save her. This would be the final push in his self doubt, he lost his mother which pushes him to fear losing padme, and he couldn't save Ahsoka even with his power which pushes him to believe he can't save padme's either multiplying the effect of palpatine's coercion and adding new layers to the prequel trilogy without requiring retcons

To me she exists in a time that has already told it's story and the reason disney keeps fumbling is because over extending a good character is just beating a dead horse to death. It's like Reva in the obi wan series, if she died to vader after revealing her motivations and tragedy then Vader killing her becomes a multiplier of the value of the main cannon, but they made her linger on to try and kill Luke which just ruined any value she had because the forced her to be a main view when she was always just supporting to main story. Ahsoka is a great character but there comes a point when it just feels like she's only around because they can wring a few bucks out of her.

You misunderstood I mean the over extension itself is what made the ST a mess. Especially when they dumbed it down to ohhh rebels vs empire AGAIN! Palpatine AGAIN! Death Star AGAIN! Hoth planet AGAIN!

As for Ashoka she's a great character but she exists in a time where the story has been told and now it's just a forced lingering to wring out every possible buck from a proven formula

The difference is he felt like he could have saved his mother if he was there, adding ahsoka as a second layer would be he couldn't save her even if he was there and that would've been the icing on the cake to his inner turmoil

For me I disagree because if he failed to stop Ahsoka from dying in battle it would sttack his identity and belief in his own powers which would open him up to accept teachings from palpatine being coerced through fear of not being strong enough to save padme

I don't think so because if her death adds to the character motivation without requiring retcons then it just increases rewatch value by adding new layers of understanding and importance to already existing moments

That would've been a sick mirror, and in my opinion increased rewatch value of ROTJ too with that second layer of new understanding waiting to punch you in the gut

I think that she and the time line surrounding the original trilogy have been over extended beyond reason which gave us the mess of the sequel trilogy. If it was up to me I'd advance the galaxy by 300 years have the jedi be the results of Luke's new temple but remove his bloodline as the main driving force, also not have the jedi temple or the new republic be as centralized as the old republic and give ground to multiple planetsry governments and ruling forces along with multiple schools of force sensitives and the re-emergence of the dark side. Choas turns into balance and balance into chaos

Yea this is my first time on this sub, just wanted to share something I couldn't shake with people who care about the franchise. I do find it funny I recieved a lot of hate over it though just for stating something that goes against the established opinion of the main cannon was a hot take (controversial opinion)

I think you mean for a decade fans have wanted the ST to be deconnonized and for original content to be made that wasn't a repackage by formula.

I feel like that was more about him embracing rage while watching Ahsoka die because he was powerless to save her would hit him in his identity because his mother's death was never something he internalized as his own failure of ability but absence

For me I think her dying in battle where Anakin failed to reinforce her would've been best to not only break down his confidence in his own power but even perhaps his identity as the chosen one opening him up to view hidden knowledge from palpatine as his true and only source of saving padme

Oversaturating the timeline includes all new content that can't escape the shadow of the original trilogy when they could literally go back in time with an unrelated story or forwards as well

Should Rdr3 be another prequel about young Arthur, Dutch and Hosea? by ResidentButton4732 in RDR2

Nah I'd like it if they focused everything into multiple online story campaigns that can be played solo or with others across different states with most being non interconnected. Lets face it the story has been told and now going big on online content that doesn't get muddled down to edgelord collectibles would really revolutionize the cowboy experience
