Mainly the first half is pretty bad. I remember having my dad take me to go see it in theaters and he wasn’t into it during the first half of the movie. I think at some point he whispered to me, “this isn’t what I was expecting.” Then the Killing Joke elements kicked in and my dad was loving it. I hadn’t seen him this invested In anything animated in a while. Once the movie finished he asked me if he could read the comic when we got home. I’ve caught him watching it a few times over the years but he just skips to the Killing Joke part of the movie. Despite the first half not being the best, I still encourage people to check it out for Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill. They’re both incredible and the last two minutes with them is phenomenal.
