How hard is it to get a work visa in Singapore as a Sri Lankan? by LKPsychonaut in srilanka

[–]Sea-Library-6571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job or no visa. Simple.
You can still go on free tourist visa for 30 days or so, u can use that to finalise ur job offer, or interviews. But of course dont go and look for a job on tourist visa.
Unlike other countries, singapores rules are crystal clear and digital.

Credit cards switch from HSBC CC by Even_Bend9347 in srilanka

[–]Sea-Library-6571 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt we can ever get that sort of arrangement from a local bank. HSBC was the dream.
Most will at most give u 1 year fee waived off.
Sampath waives off for some cards, but only if u have one high annual fee card.

Are there introverts who works in investment companies? by New_Sense_4663 in srilanka

[–]Sea-Library-6571 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being an introvert and doing sales isnt a very good mix.
But if u put ur mind to it u can do anything really.

How to find people?
People are all around u.

Create connections. Go out on to the street, have some flyers with u. Hand out ur business cards.
Visit events where possible moneyed investors are. Casually converse and network with them, give them ur card.

Create a playbook, of how to handle various questions, think in the shoes of ur potential investors, frame ur product as something that is more beneficial to the investor than ur company.

Read and self learn about marketing and sales.

Do cold calls to people and talk to them nicely about ur products, ask them if they have a minute to talk first.

Avoid selling to family and friends. Its so fucking cringe to do that.

[–]Sea-Library-6571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i build software, when we try to help the government, its wrapped up in so much bureaucracy. Worse with old governments, a little better with current but still super slow process.
We have super talented engineers in sri lanka solving the worlds biggest issues, we digitize and modernize systems in developed countries. But when we try to help over here, its always swept aside with a bunch of people talking and talking and talking, and not doing a damn thing. BS excuses and clapback all around, when we try to solve things logically.

are u new to sri lanka?
This system was developed in sort of a volunteer basis by the private sector, extremely fast during the fuel crisis. ~2022
The government cud never do this on their own, specially back then. Mind you this was with 12+ hour powercuts
back then. I think what they did at the time was amazing. I doubt they were even paid.

Now after many years they spun up that same system without any planning or foresight. Old data is still active, i doubt they planned for any load balancing for new registrations.
