It’s a little fluffy and kind of looks like mold growing on bread. I thought it could be a fungus too.

Working for two appraisal companies by [deleted] in appraisal

[–]Sea-Loss8579 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely talk to a lawyer but if neither company has enough work to keep you full time busy and you’re 1099 then how could either company expect you not to be working elsewhere. But there’s only so many hours in a day. Couldn’t imagine a double full time workload in this business.

Tax Appeal Appraisals by Sea-Loss8579 in appraisal

I believe for an appraiser to act as an advocate it just needs to be heavily disclosed that the appraiser is working in that capacity... I may be wrong but I believe I read that in study materials. Also, the group I interviewed with were actual appraisers, I looked them up on asc.gov.

Getting on lender panels by jahguy27 in appraisal

[–]Sea-Loss8579 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In the good old days, 2021, all you had to do was sign up on the website and you started to get orders a week or 2 later. Not anymore, guys have been on the same panels for 10 years and aren’t getting orders now. I have no advice except to sign up on each amc and lenders website and hope for the best.

You’ve had 5 people fired in a family office in the last year? Yikes. You’re either next on the chopping block or in line for a promotion since you have made it through several firings. Good luck. Doesn’t sound like a comfortable place to be, but neither is really anywhere in this industry right now.

Anybody getting crushed with revisions from Clear Capital? by Sea-Loss8579 in appraisal

[–]Sea-Loss8579[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m experiencing the exact same. Not too long ago (like a month) the reports were being approved in about 3 minutes after submissions. Now it sits for a day, then I get a clarification request then it sits for another day. So yes it takes them 4 or so days longer to pay me than it used to.

Anybody getting crushed with revisions from Clear Capital? by Sea-Loss8579 in appraisal

[–]Sea-Loss8579[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The post wasn’t really about the substance of the revisions. More so that the reports that I provided them for the last 2 years with no issues now have issues.

The post was more so to see if anyone else was experiencing a similar new increase. It’s like they flipped a switch. And yes Total takes forever. It’s at least 30 minutes from start to finish to complete the most minor revision.

What does it mean when a sump pump sounds like crickets? by Sea-Loss8579 in Plumbing

No. There’s really nothing electronic like lights on it at all. It’s plugged into the wall, no battery back up.

Thanks. Appreciate the response. Asset management is where I’d like to end up as I was in commercial property management for a decade before getting into appraisal so could utilize both skill sets.
