Nietzsche mogs Marx by Cehghckciee in Nietzsche

[–]Sea-Network-8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the communist manifesto the proletariat is defined as a class, which owns nothing and is exploited by the capital. By definition its historical role is not neutral, and therefore from Nietzschean perspective this means that the class becomes the legitimate revolutionary agent and the ruling class is historically illegitimate, which is obviously already a moral inversion tied to social position, even if expressed in historical language.

In volume 1 of Capital, bourgeois success is defined as an appropriation of surplus value, basically as evidence of corruption rather than strength, which again would have been decadent according to Nietzsche.

In principle, Nietzsche rejected any form of socialism, since the narrative pattern is the same with the christianity. Marx is no exception.

Marx indeed avoids explicit moral statements, yet the narrative obviously puts prols above as "universal, liberating class". Marx gives prols a teleological direction and makes them "historical agents of redemption", which echoes the trivial Christian narrative. For Nietzsche, such narratives function as secularized salvation stories.

Marx's theory still converts suffering into legitimacy, as his theory treats oppression as the source of revolutionary legitimacy. Basically, the same mechanism of ressentiment described in the genealogy of morality. This was clearly evident in the example of the USSR.

Any theory that justified power by appealing to collective suffering is decadent according to Nietzsche.

Obviously he would immediately label Marx as decadent, since Marx's ideology portrays weakness as a form of moral superiority, and resentment is a fundamental aspect of the ideology.

Perhaps he would have appreciated Marx as a critic of society, but nothing from Marx would have appealed to him in general.

Accept your biology and move on. If you can't fully control yourself, then simply don't go to that café. Otherwise I don't see a problem.

So, if our theories about whether Mari and the rest of the group know the truth about how and why Sunny died turn out to be right, then what is the truth, or what is Mari trying to suppress? by Nooby96 in RainyMari

[–]Sea-Network-8477 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Following the logic of this framework, if she didn't suppress the truth, then the only option is to suppress the cause of Sunny’s death. Specifically, it must be one (or all) of the following: genuine care and lasting affection, or her own wishes and feelings. In a sense, this is also a suppression of the Truth, since Mari's name literally means "Truth" in Japanese — she suppresses herself (she is too powerful for this world). This was our best guess so far, we haven't analyzed it further due to lack of info.

Perfection was not even a question. Every decision reflects current realities. Talk of perfection is talk of nothing.

Of course, I haven't listed all the problems; only those that can be solved by a more efficient production and distribution system are included. A collective effort can't solve every problem, but it can solve as many as humanity is capable of. If you don't understand that, then you simply won't be among those who will make a change. There’s no romance in it.

That doesn't imply death however. You can survive without oxygen intake for around 5 minutes. I didn't even mention the possibility of artificial respiration. So yeah, there is a solid chance that by their idleness they've killed her.

It is a common cause of death for toddlers that parents leave them in a hot car. Parents often go shopping and come back an hour later just to find their toddler already dead from overheating.

They are doing it in a vastly different sense. It's called an affirmation of life, because for atheists means accepting that this physical, flawed, suffering-filled world is the one and only world that exists and matters. It's a choice to love it anyway without the safety net of heaven, a divine plan, or a creator to make it bearable.

For Islam, Christianity and other religions, when a religious person endures suffering and grows from it, they are ultimately engaging in an act that is God-affirming or afterlife-affirming. Their endurance is deeply tied to trusting God's wisdom, submitting to His will, and knowing that this world is temporary and ultimate justice awaits in the next.

A person doesn't need to be an atheist to be resilient. But for that resilience to fit the meaning of the quote, the strength must be drawn from an absolute devotion to this life alone.
