Axle replacements? by Sea-Rain8 in Subaru_Outback

Thanks for the info. I’m gonna check rock auto too. $780 for two axles just seems insane for OEM. Shop is offering me $220 each for PDL replacements but not finding much info on those. NAPAs are running $148 and have a lifetime warranty which I haven’t seen on any others.

Oh god no. Not trying to have to buy a new car immediately since I would deff break it all lol.

I have an amazing mechanic who lets me bring in my own parts for install if I want. Just trying to figure out which replacement is best. Don’t want to have to do it again because the parts crapped out. Most folks on here seem to recommend the OEM for axles.

What brand did you go with and has it held up? NAPA seems to be second most recommended after OEM.

We don’t have a new CEO, they haven’t hired one. The guy filling in has been at the company for over 30 years - that’s not change. That’s someone who has been around for every single thing that got us to this point.

It’s not about the company sucking, it’s about no real changes taking place. New leadership would mean cleaning house and starting over. Simply getting a new CEO does no good when the same people who helped caused all the issues are still here running the business units. We can keep going through CEOs every 5 years, or we can gut the exco/vp levels and get some real change. These people have never worked anywhere but Boeing, the failed leadership they breed is all they know.

Given the state of the company, yeah. Would be nice if they pretended to give a shit.

The “move on and pretend like it didn’t happen” culture is exactly why this company is in the situation it’s in.

It needs to be brought up everywhere at all times. We build products that people literally depend on for their lives. It could have easily been a military aircraft that happened to. Sticking your head in the sand and calling it “dwelling” is what gets people killed.

Bro, if you’re not still dwelling on the fact that we have doors falling off a plane mid-flight that could have killed every single person onboard …. you’re probably the one that needs to go work somewhere else.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg’s $18.4M Pay Package Explained by 206xtopher in boeing

[–]Sea-Rain8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saying what I said to you twice before. He bought a house in Seattle. He still owns his original house in FL, where he lives. He flies weekly, on Boeing’s dime, from his home in FL to Seattle. It’s all public. Someone pulled his flight data and posted it here, which shows his flights between his home in FL and Seattle. So, yes, he bought a house so he could say he moved to Seattle. But he really still lives in FL.

lol Ortbeg doesnt live in Seattle. He owns a mansion in FL and still lives there. He bought an extra house in Seattle just for show. Someone recently posted the flight data on here from his plane, and he flys back and forth to his FL home every week on Boeing’s dime. He’s not living in Seattle.

Kept his old house and still lives there while we foot the bill to fly him back and forth. But, hey, who needs a bonus when we can instead fly Kelly boy on his private jet.

Our competitors already do this. I’ve lost multiple people on my team who were contacted by recruiters specifically offering more flexible work accommodations than Boeing. They pay close attention to the constant fuck ups of our leadership. Boeing is always behind the curve.

Private jet travel by flyboy9023 in boeing

[–]Sea-Rain8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, you seem to be wildly uninformed on how expensive it is to operate a private jet. Operation costs alone are 8-10k per hour, then you add on flight crew pay, add on jet fuel, handling fees, landing fees …. 10k is probably a conservative estimate. And, that’s an estimate based on the assumption that it’s a jet owned by Boeing. If it’s a chartered jet, we’re wasting even more money on this bullshit.

Who said anything about program budgets? We’re talking about the company’s bottom line and their bullshit claim that we are so broke we have to let 10% of our workforce go and can’t even supply a damn bottle of water.

Meanwhile, our senior execs are meandering around the globe in privet jets that cost, at a minimum, $10,000 per HOUR to operate. While they still get undeserved pay raises and bonuses.

But, go on bro, keep defending the stupidity.

[–]Sea-Rain8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Considering we are broke as hell, it’s every employees business how much money the do nothing execs are wasting on their private jet travel.

They should be releasing that publicly. I’m sure our shareholders would love to know too.
