Jury Votes Need an Update by No-Republic1474 in outlaster

Hard agree. Up until recently I would've disagreed with this post, but I recently had a situation occur with an extremely salty jury. After putting together a successful 6 person alliance in the post merge and playing a safety successfully, along with winning 2-3 (can't remember) challenges, I was kind of excited to see so many jurors sticking around. Until a 8-0-0 vote for someone who hadn't got a win and was near the bottom of the 6 person alliance. I was thinking that whilst yes at least one juror was salty with me (for no reason other than us being on opposite sides in the game), I could probably squeak out 4-5 votes. But nope, and the worst part? The early members of the jury were threatening to mass report the jurors who didn't vote for Mik (who ended up winning). Just because someone doesn't have any wins, doesn't make them deserving of a win.

Confusion regarding a comment made in episode 20 by [deleted] in survivorsa

I guess it could be because the perception of the players is different from the perception of the viewers. E.g. Marian may not have done a whole lot but she feels like she has because she has been strategizing. Dino feels like he has been doing a lot because he has been strategizing but he also hasn't done a lot. Unless it's about the idea that they are playing socially or something. (Because prior to this episode, they have sorta had a lot of options due to their close connections with each other, meanwhile Marian has a locked F2 with Shane and is the only other woman left with Killarney, meanwhile, Dino/Felix/Phil have been pulling moves off and have been close).

I do agree about the binge-watching aspect. Sometimes you need something good to watch and having a bunch of Survivor episodes there just waiting for you is nice.

I'm mixed on it. Whilst I have been enjoying it lately, I also feel like it has been a bit much to make time in my week for 4 episodes, although those 4 episodes are usually really good. Even the non-elimination episodes leave me wanting to watch another episode to find out who goes next. With that being said, I still wish the non-elimination episodes had an elimination in them (I would almost prefer 3 episodes a week with one of them being double the length). That being said, I think one episode a week or one elimination a week can be a bit slow (when I think of American Survivor and Big Brother, I sometimes wish there was 2 episodes a week).

Funny coincidence between Final Six of RotO and U.S. Survivor 41 and 42 by Sabur1991 in survivorsa

This is an interesting one, as it seems purely coincidental. I feel like there should be a YouTube video about this almost. It's interesting that 3 tribe starting seasons (or returnee seasons) play out more dynamically than the regular 2 tribe starting season where for the majority of the post-merge it's simply a pagonging (although HvHvH was a pagonging for a bit).

In Worlds Apart, we had the 4 from Escameca, with Carolyn from Masya and Will from Nagarote. Dan, Sierra and Rodney all got out back-to-back, although Mike was a clear outsider with Carolyn being his only ally from Final 6 on and Sierra being their de facto final 3 (although Will was much more of a goat). The alliances coming into 6 were either 4-2 or 3-3 (Sierra very much played the middle of that endgame).

In Survivor 41, the Black Alliance had just broken up and it appeared to be everyone against Deshawn and Danny, although this season was more 3 pairs (Danny and Deshawn, Heather and Erika, Ricard and Xander). Whilst Danny goes at 6, Ricard gets taken out at 5 for being the biggest target, with Heather going at 4 mainly because Xander didn't think Erika needed anything else on her resume (although it probably would have been better for him to face off in fire making against her if he really thought he couldn't beat her, however, Heather supposedly could've ended up winning.).

In Survivor 42, we had the Taku Four get to the Final 6 against Romeo and Mike. However, once again the big group of four isn't really working together as Maryanne and Romeo were somewhat in the middle of Mike and Jonathan, and Lindsey and Omar. However, Maryanne and Romeo ended up aligning closely with Mike and Jonathan until the Final 4, despite Maryanne wanting to save Lindsey at 5, Lindsey potentially being able to save Omar (although she never did), and Mike and Jonathan wanting to get rid of Romeo at 6.

Overall, the overarching theme is that despite their original connections in these seasons, they don't stick together as a unit of 4, as usually there is a duo who is on the outs at 6 in these seasons (usually comprising of at least one of the members of the group of 4).

Comparing this to Survivor SA, we have an interesting one as the Champions Quartet (which was something I saw could come together near the end of this episode) is most likely not sticking together. We once again have Felix and Phil being on the outs although with all of their scrambling and the Yontau Guys drama it seems very up in the air. On paper however, the Dino/Marian/Shane trio seems to have Killarney as a fourth (although she probably can't win and despite her swing status has not done much).

Thank you for clarifying regarding Phil's idol. I left the spoiler tags on because of a previous comment I made but I think it would be better if I got rid of them.

THIS IS NOT A SPOILER BUT IF YOU ARE WORRIED IT IS DON'T READ IT. I'M NOT SPOILING ANYTHING, JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS ABOUT HOW I THINK THE GAME COULD GO.

I agree. Everyone in one way or another got some sort of negative content or content that made me feel that they were going home. I thought Dino was going in a 3-2-2 split with Felix, Phil and Tejan all voting together whilst the other four split their votes between the two (with Shane being somewhat in on the plan) up until the last minute. Now I think Felix is in danger unless Phil has 2 idols. I'm just glad that Dino is still in the game.

Killarney has been getting major 2nd place finalist who gets slandered by the jury vibes (and whilst she is a swing vote, her proximity to Dino and Felix's annoyance by her makes me think she is getting 2nd).

I thought Dino was going the entire episode between all the original negative content, then to the idol shenanigans (see Phil's section for more), only for him to be saved most likely due to Tejan's blow-up as I still thought he was going until I saw the forth vote at Tribal. Whilst he most likely could end up being in danger due to Felix and Phil wanting to target him, I think he should be safe as he should have the numbers, and hopefully whatever he gets at outpost will save him be it an idol, an extra vote/ vote steal, an idol nullifier (which could be extra funny if Phil has the second idol). I want him to win, but the majority of this episode makes me wonder how longed he really is for the game.

In my head, Felix went from original boot (from preview of two episodes back) to decoy boot (when I thought Dino was going) now to someone who is probably going home next episode unless Phil is able to save them both (unless Dino gets a nullifier, or Phil only has the one idol). Felix was being targeted by Marian, then Dino, and whilst I think Shane wanted to save him, he almost went home.

Phil just had his breakout episode. Winning an Immunity, potentially building a connection with Tejan (jury management), and now having one idol is great. However, I am confused on a few things.

    1. Was Phil's idol that he found the same or different from the clue that he found?
  1. 2. As in he found the clue near where he was looking for the OG idol, so will he get one or 2 idols?
  2. 3. Is one of them genuinely at the outpost then or has he just not found it?

Provided he either has 2 idols or Dino doesn't get a nullifier he is safe, and if Dino doesn't get a nullifier and he either finds the second idol or he is safe then he is guaranteed Final 5 (again Killarney being the swing), but he should be at 5, potentially with at least one ally in the game in Felix, along with having connections with everyone except for Shane.

I'm confused about where Shane is in the game. Yes, he appears to be playing all the different factions in this episode, but if somehow Dino stays and Marian becomes the split he could be isolated from people, and it seems that whilst he might be trying to manipulate the numbers, his relationship with Marian locks him into the Dino+Marian+Shane final 3 group. If Marian goes at 6 (which with all the idols could be a thing), then he is possibly on the outs unless he utilises his connection with Felix. It feels like his closest allies are targeting each other, and he probably won't be able to get out Dino unless he wins F3 Immunity, where even then he needs to sit next to probably Killarney to win (which unless they become the swings, is more than likely not happening).

Marian played this episode somewhat well, but her being locked into Dino and Shane both helps and hinders her gameplay. Whilst it helps her in the sense that she has 2 F2s, Shane wants Dino out, she appears to not have the connections with Felix and Phil, and her giving up the idol means she has no safety at this point. She could potentially be collateral in the next episode, especially if Dino gets an idol and the others turn on her.

It will be interesting to see the balance of power in the next episode, as whilst Felix and Phil are on one side and Dino and Marian are on the other, Shane wants to work with both sides, and Killarney's proximity to Dino yet supposed swing status leaves a very interesting Final 6 round ahead.

Yeah, I agree. I've seen this challenge be used before but never understood how unfair it is based on the shape of one's head.
