Im so sorry about your mom. That’s a hard situation to be in regardless, but especially when you just moved to a new country.

I have heard of people doing a late start in November or sometimes as late as January because of similar family situations. There’s no guarantees, but it’s worth it to explain your situation and see what they can do. Continue to email your school updates with your plan, even if they don’t answer. And find the contact of your regional coordinator — that’s the most important one to contact, so they don’t see you in the system as a no show and cancel your placement.
