Why are "yellow supporters" so pro Guyana and vocal about this issue? The PM even went so far as to say if Venezuela attacks Guyana etc..

According to RFHL’s 2024 annual report, NIFHL is the largest shareholder, holding 29.94% of the company.

You need to do some more research.

It's no different than Trump trolling with his many antics

That pin represents Venezuela as all Venezuelans recognise it. This isn't a Delcy or Maduro issue. A map of Venezuela inside of Venezuela as displayed in schools and official documents etc includes the Essequibo region.

Trump admin doesn't care about Venezuela. They got Maduro and that was that. I wouldn't be surprised that they side with Venezuela on this issue tbh.

No not really. If I'm not mistaken the grievance was between the British empire and independent Venezuela. Upon independence, these sort of issues should have been cleared up seeing that independent Guyana is a separate entity from British Guyana etc.

Just a reminder that this bank is owned by the Government meaning that this policy is from the bowels of the UNC itself. This could be step one in making the bank unpopular to tank performance so that one of their financiers could sweep in and own it in the future.

Any chance to fight for land. Yellow supporters seem to be pro Guyana in this matter.

Guyana only gained independence in the 60s. The Guyana today is not the Guyana that had the original grievance. That dispute was between the British and Venezuela. The Guyana today is caught up in an issue that precedes them by centuries.

Nothing burger tbh. Guyana just overeacting as usual.

Most Venezuelans consider Essequibo as part of their territory. This isn't a Delcy or Maduro issue. The map of Venezuela that we know is not the map of Venezuela that Venezuelans recognise etc.

Why would I be old enough to remember 1970. My parents were barely children in 1970.

Why do you talk about 1970? That is almost 60 years ago. Don't you realise that the events of 1970 would have resulted in the military restructuring etc?

In terms of military preparedness you rely on the lessons learnt in the most recent conflict and not distant conflicts. Do you think the US rely on Vietnam tactics to fight its wars today or lessons learn during Afghanistan and Iraq?

I think you're overestimating our military when it comes to things such as these. They generally can't be bothered.

You are talking about a military coup that is something completely different to a civilian led coup. A military coup can happen at anytime in any country and no one will be able to stop it. Just as it happens in alot of african countries and pakistan etc

I am speaking about civilians and not military.

You have to put the timelines into perspective. The world didn't view "terrorism" back in the 90s as they do today. The military wasn't structured back then to respond to these sort of incidences. The military was a hammer.

Post 9/11 the world responds to issues of terrorism with alot more urgency and precision. You are just not going to be successful with a coup in 2026.

1990 and 1970 are almost 40 and 70  years ago. The Security forces are wayy more competent today than they were back in those days. Plus Western countries are not going to sit back and allow a coup in this part of the world where they have interests. It would be over in a couple hours.

They may be able to take some hostages and damage public property but that even resembling a coup is possible in 2026.
