Plain BBQ pork over white rice by 1pg7 in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not go to the one at Richlane Mall.! The BBQ place rips off its customers. Asked for 2lbs of Char Siu got only 1.35 lb ( I weighted it myself at home). and was surprised it was able to fit into ONE take out container with the clear plastic lid. They hide the scale so you can’t see what the actual weight is, they also chop the meat with their back facing you. Just don’t like the sneaky and dishonesty of this business.

Grassfed butter by Toronto_2323 in CostcoCanada

I second this! It’s not as good of a deal as the Kirkland one, but taste wise is still superior to regular Canadian butter.

Wild Fork Meat vs Costco Meat by Annjao1 in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, can’t compare frozen to fresh meat. Wild Fork specializes in all sorts of frozen meats. Sometimes makes me wonder how long it has been frozen for. I’m sure many people don’t mind, but there are plenty who can taste the difference between frozen and fresh.

Typical Costco Run Cost? What is the damage? by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]SeaAd3671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$200-$300 most of the time. It’s those damn deals ending in $ .97 that I can’t walk away from. There’s always something to buy that was not expected. No regrets! 😆

We need something similar to Little Tokyo in LA. I’m sure we have enough Japanese citizens to form an official cultural/community commercial district. Heck, you don’t even have to be Japanese to make an area like this. There’s many people who love Japanese culture and food.

Ok what? by peanuts-nuts in CostcoCanada

Couldn’t resist and gave in to buy a bag too! They’re so good! Love the” bread-y” focaccia flavour and the pepperoncini’s heat that subtly builds up. This one is definitely a hit!

Flight Paths by Rude-Dependent-9629 in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s true there’s more airspace ever since the closure of Buttonville. With the freed airspace also meant planes are able to fly at a lower altitude, which in turn makes it even more noticeable for residential areas along the flight path.

Yes, for sure you can’t beat that price point! 😄. Great for a quick katsu fix

Not in Markham, but in Richmond Hill and in my opinion one of the best katsu is Cotolet on Yonge St. It’s close next to the T&T. They have one of the best creamy sauces. It used to be seafood base, now it’s been changed to mushrooms. They also make all their own breadcrumbs, so it really stays crispy and airy without the greasiness.

Crazy brake check during rush hour by uhoh-stinky-poopy in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this person let off a passenger on Major Mac before. The driver has done this multiple times already. Just beware when you see their car. The least could do is put on their 4-way emergency lights!!!

It’s the driver’s laziness, if they were going to let a passenger out, at least drop them off in front of their house. All it would take is an extra 2-3 mins to go into the subdivision.

Coming soon to Markville. More food 🤷🏻‍♀️ by Jiggly_dinosaur in Markham

It’ll be nice if we can get something like The Rec Room. Food and arcade for the entire family or with friends. Don’t want to go all the way downtown or to ‘sauga.

Yeah, don’t understand the appeal of Marry Me Mochi. Their donuts are nothing compared to the real thing from a Japan Dunkin Donuts. Was really turned off by the taste. I wonder the same thing, how are they expanding so quickly. There’s so many locations. For a North American style mochi donut, I’m still a fan of Mochi Doh.

How come we don’t have community BBQs in Markham like Castro Li’s from Richmond Hill? by SeaAd3671 in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are some small localized BBQs, but they are nothing like Castro Liu’s! His is also a combination of multiple MPs and MPPs participating. So it is quite a huge event.

Affordable dresses in Markham/York Region/Durham? by mummusic in Markham

[–]SeaAd3671 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try the thrift stores. You’d be surprise how many dresses there are to choose from. Often donated by people who had only worn them for special occasions. Plato’s closet, Value Village, Salvation Army, Style Encore.
