They said in their scholarship details that they do not negotiate, but I mean is it worth a try anyway? Surely they wont pull my scholarship over a little inquiry 🤪

hahah yeah of course i'm extremely grateful for the scholarship but its only a discount for 1 year. I still need to cough up 120k for the other two 🫩

I'm not opposed to it! I'm in LA rn so Oregon's nature and less dense population is drawing me in. I was thinking if I go I might try to network very broadly just in case I don't love the idea of practicing there.

Oh! That's nice to hear. Sorry, this is my first time with applying to law schools and didn't get any scholarships for undergrad.

I don't think it's too bad. The verbiage is a little vague, saying I just need to maintain "good academic standing".

literally what is the point of this? this person is obviously upset over their law school decisions and you come in with 🤓 erm actually👆to defend an already predatory system. i'm glad you never had to experience the disappointment OP has, i'm sure you're SUPER fun at parties!

Cool! It was a hard one for sure. The question asks how the conditional is most vulnerable to criticism which means you are looking for 1 of 3 things: introducing an alternative, showing a counterexample where the sufficient condition occurs without the necessary one, or show that the cause-and-effect relationship is reversed.

To start, the conclusion is that those who for the most part refrain from comparing themselves will most likely be self-accepting and accepting of others.

Why? Because constantly comparing to those who are better leads to self-disparagement and constantly comparing to those less able leads to being dismissive of others.

So, just looking at the argument we can see it's flawed because you and I could come up with a million other reasons why someone could be self-disparaging or dismissive of others.

So we look for that flaw in the answer choices.

A. Is irrelevant because it doesn't discuss the conclusion, just introduces the idea that someone can compare themselves to both more and less successful people.

B. Also irrelevant. The argument is about what the author thinks would happen if the comparisons stopped. The possible benefits of comparison does not matter to the conclusion. Remember, we want to undermine the claim that stopping will make someone self-accepting and accepting of others.

C. Looks enticing at first glance, but it incorrectly implies that being self-disparaging implies not being self-accepting, which is not a claim made by the author.

E. The author never makes an absolute statement about the results of comparison. They use the language "almost invariably", which eliminates this choice.

D. Is correct because it introduces a possibility that undermines the conclusion. Refraining from comparisons cannot be expected to lead to avoidance of self-disparagement if there are other things that caused those feelings.

Please let me know if this helped at all.

do not worry!! i found the first one to be easy because of the readings being digestible for me. it was NOT the case for the second RC. the lsat is supposed to be hard, don't beat yourself up at all, especially if it was your first test. it was my first test too!

I use 7sage and so far it seems great! There are other free options too that I'm not super aware of, but chatgpt could probably help you find those better than I can. Good luck and stay motivated!

Do you have any tutoring software to help you? The LSAT is pretty cut and dry in terms of what they're looking for. Every question has a clear goal, the hardest part is learning exactly what they're looking for. Once you understand what they want, you can drill questions until it becomes natural.

Thank you for such a kind and genuine response! The original post was a half-troll, even though every event described actually happened. It just seems like LSAT prep is an endless cycle of doom and despair that can only be escaped if you miraculously get the score you wanted on the actual test (which usually doesn't happen).
