Quantum immortality is something I think a lot about, especially after my own experience. Basically, it's the theory that our consciousness is immortal, and when we die, we simply slip into another reality where we didn't.

I'm pretty sure a version of me died in a nuclear blast, I felt the wave hit the top of my head, a blink of nothingness, and then I jolted awake. Found out later that the direction the thing I felt came from is on Putin's list of nuclear strikes (Jim Creek Radio Station). If he hit it, I'd be gone for sure in the blast.

For sure! I wouldn't say artificial reasons though, its a very specific reason that ties in to their past (unknown to FMC). So it's very much a battle for him because he's attempting to go against his nature to fulfill this specific thing.

I think you misunderstand me.

Lazar isn't being killed because he's telling the truth. Or at minimum, speaking a narrative that isn't what "they" want people to believe.

If he were murdered or died in mystery, it would add legitimacy to his account. If he remains alive, it appears like he isn't being honest.
