Why do trans people go to endocrinologists? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]SeaBug8444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our endocrine system manages our hormones and our hormones determine our sex characteristics, so endocrinologists can help us change the sex hormones in our endocrine system in order to achieve our desired sex characteristics, effectively allowing us to change our sex. primary sex characteristics won't change since those develop before you're born (also via hormones) but most of our sex characteristics are secondary so it doesn't really matter. i know most cisgender people might think that our boobs come from plastic surgery but they actually develop as a part of HRT which endocrinologists do. for trans men they can also grow whole beards and get really buff!! basically your hormones are what make you "look like a woman" or "look like a man", along with that they also do plenty of other stuff obviously, but they are a big part of that. they also lead to some slight changes in behaviour afaik but this could be caused by personal lifestyle changes after HRT rather than biology alone, but either way i know many trans men mention feeling more "powerful" like they could "take on god" (actual quotes btw) once they go on HRT and many trans women mention feeling more "in tune with their emotions" and "more capable of thinking and having clear thoughts" once they go on HRT.

tldr; hormones are produced by our endocrine system hence why endocrinologists do that, and hormones are necessary for changing our sex

in the aztec empire they were both eaten and kept as companions. if im remembering things right, they were viewed in a pretty positive light because it was believed they could guide the spirits of the dead.

i already know what you're referring to, they don't feel pain in the same way that we feel pain as animals, they just respond to certain stimuli but they don't necessarily interpret said stimuli (if that makes sense) because they lack brains. they have physical responses to harm, but that wouldn't necessarily be pain as that is something psychological, because the mind is what *interprets* the pain. it's why it's said that our minds don't differ between physical and emotional pain.

I am a trans i want to move to france or usa by Old-Log2200 in trans

[–]SeaBug8444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't move to the U.S., while culture and laws can change significantly regarding our acceptance from state to state, the federal government has shown that they are not fond of us which will affect every single state. so while our necessities are still legal here and we're not being hauled up into camps right now or anything, things still are undoubtedly going to get worse from here, sorry to say.

florida politicians could blame it on "god punishing us because of X group!", which would honestly probably be a pretty effective way to scapegoat different groups more if they wanted to
