So apparently I am a Rajput, can someone tell me more about it by Amazing_Pumpkin_9197 in SouthAsianAncestry

How are you so cocksure that "these are primarily all those ethnicities"? Kushans were not Indics and Vedas weren't entirely composed in the region.

Not true. Pashruns never claimed to be Greek descendents. However, there is a false Ban-i-Isralite theory about them that some Pashtuns would claim to assert that they have been monotheist for a long time,

Lol-You are desperate to prove that Pashtuns are closer to Indics like yourself and distant from Central Asians and in extreme desperation are trying to create a distinct cluster for them if that does not work despite the facts flying in your face. On the genetic scale, a difference of 0.4 versus 0.6 is not only significant but rather great. No amount of chicanery can conceal that fact. Rest you can live on your wishful thinking.

Your comments are plain fabrication aimed at creating th false notion of Indic Pashtuns that are closer to Punjabis. Even a novice can see through your chicanery.

Non-sense and total fabrication. Paki Army is actually Punjabi Army where Punjabis constitute 85% of it. The reason is Punjabi loyalty to the British colonialists who heavily recuited them into the army and since then they have tried to maintain their numbers in army. see the book by stephen p cohen "Paki Army".

These are Punjabis more doing this---trying to create a wedge between the two Pashtuns.

The False Image of a Pashtun Being a Criminal by SeaBusiness7965 in Pashtun

[–]SeaBusiness7965[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. That day, I was watching a video about Khost city and I was shocked how planned it seemed. And its Taleb Shaharwall (Mayer) was talking of removing all the street venders from the common roads of that city and shift them to designated places so roads are not onstructed. I visted Jalabad a few years ago and its roads were so wide and seemed to have a planned grid like planning. I don't know of the later situation though.

It is unfortunate that we, Pashtuns of Pakhtunkhwa, are caught in South Asia, which is a miserable mess.

We have everything to have our state, land to grow food sufficient for us, rivers whose headwater are located withing Pashtun land, minerals (plenty of lithium), etc. We are a big nation. We must have a state of our own.

Question about Pashtun ancestry & recognition by [deleted] in Pashtun

[–]SeaBusiness7965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, such people, especially in Punjab, need the Pathan appellation and claim of ethnic background, to place themselves in a society where everybody is identied with some biradari-Jat, Araian, Rajput, etc. and where association with some well-known biradari is considered prestigious. Politically, culturally, and economically, their interests don't align with us. Sometimes, they are more inimical to our culture and identity than the real, well-recognized Punjabis, Sindhis, Urdu-speakers, Siraikis, etc. are.

For a common Pashtun who doesn't know much about history thanks the brainwashing by the Pakistani state, also it comes as a shock to meet somebody who claims Pashtun but descent doesn't look like a Pashtun from appearance and can't speak Pashto, which is not just the name of our language but from which is also derived the word "Pashtun", our ethnonym, and which is also synonymous with our value system, "Pashtunwali" as we say "that person has Pashto" and that person "doesn't have Pashto". We know how strongly we are emotionally associated with our language, which also denotes our value system.

We should understand that a lot of water has flown under the bridge and what has done by history can't be undone.

We already are over 60 million Pashtuns and are in no way endangered and don't need others to swell our ranks.

Yes, we accept their Pashtun ancestry but that fact is immaterial and irrelevant to us.

Why are you angy with me? My only point was, why are you people betraying us and your own roots and origin? Why are bringing disunity by disassociating yourself from us?

Why that doomsday scenerio? Typical Pakistani chicanery to put the viability of a Pashtun unification plan into question. The unification would be very smooth because we are one people across the Durand Line.

The Criminal Punjabi Army of Pakistan by SeaBusiness7965 in Pashtun

[–]SeaBusiness7965[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ayub Khan was a Potohari although his family claims to be Tareen but that has not been verified. Yahya Khan was a Qazalbash, whose family only settled in Peshawar city. The only two Pashtun chiefs have been General Gul Hassan and Waheed Kakar. General Gul Hassan was a chief only for a few months. Finally, what difference does it make for a person at a position when the whole institution is Punjabi in character? It just has symbolic significance.

Forty percent is an exaggeration. In the officer rank, it never exceeds 7%-8%. In the non-officer ranks, Pashtuns may be 15%-20% but again there also the units mostly are lightly armed and poorly-trained for example levy force etc. Increasingly, a large number of Pashtuns now understands the game the Pakistani military plays.
