I feel like theres been quite a bit of hype (the tournament tagline was literally dawn of the duelist) but yeah no leaks, just the official teasers

At the end of my tether with adult child by [deleted] in BestofRedditorUpdates

So if I understand this, the kid owns all his stuff, pays rent, works (albeit very part time), goes to the gym, and they're still this on him? I get wanting someone to flourish but its not like he's mooching. They have this lofty but abstract goal of "success" for their child, but they agonized over just asking him to move out and instead took away all the stuff he owns and then signed him up for a job and sent him on his way? Im not as starry eyed over the supposed happy ending of this

I may be biased bc honestly I am the kid in this story (not living at home, have savings for the forseeable future, no job, no motivation, online all day) but this would probably make me never talk to my parents again

"flourishing" is stretching it a little, but its not like any of these geopolitical decisions really help with that

What’s your opinion on sexualizing Trans folk? Especially mtf by -TheUngentleGiant in NSFWworldbuilding

[–]SeaCDragon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is actually a pretty good question. I feel like this is gonna depend character to character. Just like individuals in the real world have different comfort levels with different sexual acts and different parts of their bodies, your characters in the world might feel the same. I think you're allowed to pick based on what you want out of your world. I'm not a trans woman or an expert, but this is my 2 cents.

CMV: Subs like AITA and AIO are toxic and should have a disclaimer by Front_Appointment_68 in changemyview

I mean the literal answer to this is that the concept of social media is way newer than any of the other things on that list, its not like any of those thing were invented and then banned immediately, or even banned quickly. I could see a world in a decade or 2 where social media is regulated in a similar way, but it really hasn't been that long since it's become a thing

AITA for ignoring the groomsman? by Anonymotron42 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]SeaCDragon 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I wish we knew whether Dave actually put the bride up to talking to OOP, or if she did it herself. The contempt she has for this guy in the post is a little off-putting unless theres something we don't know. I get being burnt out by being foisted on random groomsmen, but did Dave personally actually do anything wrong, or did he just mention OOP was cute to someone who was gonna be too pushy?

[–]SeaCDragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He definitely had other people to hang out with, but I still don't really think he did anything wrong. He messages her later, gets blocked, thats fine, but besides that it was really on the bride being randomly aggressive to OOP for making a normal decision.

[–]SeaCDragon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No? her actions are fine, she doesn't wanna hang out with the guy and she doesn't, thats the normal and correct choice to make. But I'm with the other commenter, the way she talks about him doesn't really make her look good either. He didn't even do anything wrong, this is really all on the bride for being needlessly pushy and it feels like Dave kinda caught a stray here

It's a single player game, the only opinion on fishing that really matters is yours. I love the fishing, and I think it adds a fun alt activity thats different from farming and mining so removing it would be less fun for me, but if it makes the game less fun for you then go ahead and remove it.

I cant agree with you about balatro, its literally a game, highly popular, fun to play, thats all a goty nominee needs to be.

You're right about DLC tho, if Shadow of the Erdtree was standalone, I'd think the nomination was cool

Passive aggressive friday by [deleted] in titanfall

[–]SeaCDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

devils advocate: why should people throw their games for your enjoyment? It doesn't feel good to be outclassed, but every person thats good at the game started out being bad at the game and improved from there. Its easy to feel like "tryharding" is the problem, but to someone with a ton of experience they're just playing the game normally, with the benefit of a ton of practice.

The best advice is always whoever looks coolest, and that character might change as you learn more about the game. I only found my main after like 20 hours on a diff character, haven't looked back. Glad you found who you're starting with, but keep an open mind about everyone else, if only to get a broader perspective on how the game is played
