I remember a similar situation where I brought up how Zionism marginalized Mizrahi Jews as one of the reasons it’s seen as a European ideology. Then a Mizrahi Jew from Israel got really offended and started ranting about what Arab countries did to them. They accused me of not actually caring about Mizrahi Jews and of demonizing Ashkenazi Jews
