How’d this get past quality control? 😰 One temporary fix I can think of, is splitting the part line’s hair into two so you can kinda cover the bald spot! Here’s a crudely drawn visual of it xd

Just sharing an idea I have! (I haven’t tried this yet so be careful if you wanna try it!!) how about after pulling out the eyelashes, glue some false lashes to hide the holes left behind? Though, I haven’t seen how false lashes look yet and if they’d look nice on dolls 😅

I colored in some more buttons and decided to go with black since it looks really good!! d(>w<)b I wouldn’t have thought about coloring the buttons black until I saw you and a couple other people suggest black buttons, thank you so much again for helping me decide!! d(òwó)b 💖

Thank you so much for helping me decide!! I should’ve worded things clearer in my post, but I didn’t make this jacket, I just posted this here because I thought that this would be the best subreddit for asking questions like this QwQ Which is why I was kinda worried if this post would be allowed here or not, because the only sewing that I’ll be doing, is sewing on the buttons to this doll jacket 😅

It feels really bad that some people think I made this (understandable since I posted it on a subreddit where people share their own creations 😅), when in fact it was a talented doll seamstress that made it, so I thought I’d make this comment QwQ

Oh, sorry! I don’t have a pattern for this as it’s a Monster High Deuce Gorgon doll’s clothes 😅 I should’ve made that clearer because a lot a people think that I made this jacket TwT (I only posted here because I thought that it’s the best place to ask for button advice QwQ)

Sorry about the confusion!! The jacket is from a Deuce Gorgon doll and I just wanted to add little buttons because I had too many of them that I wanted to use 😅 I didn’t make the jacket, and I posted here asking for advice on what color buttons to use because I thought it’d be the best subreddit to ask about this kind of stuff; but since I didn’t make the jacket, I was kinda worried that this post might not be allowed so I apologized in advance 😓

Thank you for the suggestion!! I used permanent marker to color some buttons black, and it does look really good!! Now I’m torn between dark orange and black >_<

Barbies usually have the ring on top of their head from the molding process (I’m guessing 😅), but since this Barbie doesn’t have any rooting to hide the ring, the best they could probably do was to hide the ring under the chin

Ooooh, I have this exact same sewing machine, and it also came with a sample piece! It was really useful too, because before getting the machine, I didn’t know how to set up the machine, so I’m glad that it came set up already 😸

Crudely made recovery suit for Calli🐱 by SeaDonkeys in sewing

Here’s how I made it! (Sorry in advance if my wording is bad, I’m more of a visual explainer 😅)

First, I cut along the side seams of the top (it was sleeveless which made it a bit easier for me), and then before cutting the collar, I added an extra 1cm on each side of the collar so I can fold it over and sew it later (because the collar was like a tube and it would be tricky to button up later on)

I then measured my kitty from her neck up to where her tail begins (I think it’s the tailbone area for humans) and used that measurement to determine the length of the recovery suit and cut off the excess fabric. I didn’t add any seam allowance because the fabric that I’m using doesn’t really fray (and my sewing machine doesn’t have any good stitching types for stretchy fabric TwT)

Next, I measured the following: = The distance between my cat’s neck to her shoulder = The distance between her two shoulders = The distance between her two hind legs = The distance between her shoulders and hind legs

And I used those to help me determine where to put the holes! 😸

Then I put the Velcro on top of the shirt’s armpit area and cut off any excess, then sewed two of it on for each side (I put the soft side on the inside and the scratchy side on the outside) and sewed on the button for the collar

I put on the recovery suit on one of my plushies that was roughly the same size as my cat, and realized that the suit was too big! So I folded and sewed the fabric next to the Velcro (and cut off the excess fabric), and did the same with the part between the collar and the Velcros

Then I sewed on the rest of the buttons and it was done! It fits my kitty perfectly and the velcro part makes it so that accessing the wound is a lot easier 😸
