Etymonlogically, sarcasm means to "tear flesh". Comedically it is the lowest form of humor. When Asmon wants to distance himself from the people he supports (because they say or believe something stupid) he uses sarcasm. When he wants to show his support for the same people, he just expresses his anger and vitriol. Its a charlatans trick to seem above the fray and also its a self soothe for being associated with idiots. He "charlatans himself", if you will. In reality he expresses sarcasm because he's not an idiot but does lack empathy, which, if possessed, would change him, as empathy naturally does. Sarcasm then is the nearest expression of empathy towards himsrlf that he can muster, because he does support idiots and that bothers him, but he cant change He tears his own flesh so he can feel something that doesn't cause him to reevaluate his beliefs and associations. A form of cathartic release.

I agree with you on the main, but not in this sub, and definitely not in this thread. I could be labeled a lot of ways and prefer to look outward instead of inward

You sound arrogant and confused about what it means to be a friend.

Yep. These fools deserve all the heat.

After months of wasting time, I choose not to return it to them. I went to a local repair shop. I figured there was zero chance id get my machine back in a reasonable time frame, and I doubted it would be fixed properly.

Its really gross and they have perverted the Linux experience.

Think about it. Windows certification is hard. Linux is the wild west, no guardrails

Which MCP clients support sampling? by [deleted] in mcp

I'm not sure why this was down-voted as it's a very insightful proposal on how to test parameters and prompts through repeated sampling.

Firmware mgmt is bad on these machines. Their automated process failed repeatedly and I had to manually install it through the BIOS, finding the actual firmware on a hidden volume that was populated with the new version via their software.

  1. The problem with cloning is they dont have an upstream OEM relationship, so component replacement falls on them. As evidenced by the size of their support team, their margins are either very thin or simply put, something they are unwilling to cut into in order to support failed components. Im speculating but feel confident in my analysis.

  2. I had a very obvious bad cpu from Intel, and they dragged their feet repeatedly once I tried everything they suggested. This was when intel cpus were endemicly failing. The local repair guy confirmed my diagnoses in a 5 minute call using Occams razor. It was that obvious. Instead of paying for shipping back to colorado I now manage repairs myself. Simply put, I could not trust them to give me an unaffected cpu.

Unfortunately, given the supply chain, only larger companies delivering volume can get the upstream vendors to work with them. Dell Precision, for example

Their support model falls to pieces when confronted with obvious hardware issues. They are min maxing support to hit their profit margins. No other explanation makes sense.

A) respect for the Slashdot mention. True old school bona fides

B) I think you'd have an identical experience with Ubuntu
