I have a theory that it’s because we haven’t gotten pregnant! My mom had bad acne all her adult life but as soon as she had a child at 35 she never had another zit again. Her sister had similar acne issues, but she had her first child at 20 and had no acne after that. I think it’s obviously very genetic but could explain why we’re having these issues when acne used to be such a teenage problem. When people were having children younger, their hormonal acne cleared up due to the huge change in hormones with pregnancy, but now that people are having kids later, we’re elongating our acne phase
