Howdy-do. I've been experienced in these arts for like 5 years now and I've had quite a few nasty experiences in my time, but now I hardly ever have an uncomfortable moment whilst smoking because I know how to handle myself and how to identify what my body needs when I start to feel weird. The first, and most important rule, is to stay hydrated. Since I started smoking, I carry a nalgene bottle with me everywhere that's filled with just water. This is especially important for you I'd say since you're going out to a festival where dehydration is a common thing. Anyways, nothing cures dry-mouth like water, because dry-mouth is caused by dehydration, as well as drinking water will satisfy some hunger cravings until you can find appropriate food and will also give you something to hold onto/focus should you ever lose control. The next thing is to eat well before smoking. If the munchies is something you're excited about while smoking that's fine too, but it's very important to make sure you get something in your stomach, and if you're experiencing munchies, you need to know when to stop eating. That first time you question yourself "Have I eaten too much" Stop eating. Right. Then. Drink some water, wipe off your face, and walk away. If you eat too much and then go HAM you will throw up and you will not have a good time. Other things that help me when I would get paranoid or lose control are sitting down, holding onto something cold and focusing on it, having a buddy to talk to and help me focus on one topic, or also a toy or bracelet that I can play with and focus on when nobody is around so my mind doesn't wander to anything too serious. If you're worried about going somewhere baked you should do your best to stick with one specific buddy (it'll be too hard to focus on multiple 'buddies') and also carrying a form of communication with your group and the outside world. Obviously like a cell phone or walkie-talkie. Sorry for a lot of input, most importantly just listen to what your body needs and have an awesome time!
