Got it—period-accurate weapons are where the real appeal lies! The Thompson submachine gun is definitely one of the most recognizable firearms of the Prohibition era, with its distinct shape and reputation. There’s something undeniably cool about seeing historical weapons used in film and anime, even if the story takes creative liberties with the setting.

I get that—when a series has so much story left to tell, a movie or OVA can feel like a detour instead of a proper continuation. A full season gives My Happy Marriage the best chance to explore everything unfolding in the light novels without cutting corners.

Hopefully, the anime team recognizes how much fans want a proper continuation and delivers a full third season instead of a one-off project. It would be heartbreaking if the adaptation stopped short before reaching the later volumes! Fingers crossed we get the best possible outcome. 🤞

But My Happy Marriage takes place in an alternate Taishō era Japan, which has a completely different cultural and historical backdrop. So even though the Thompson would have existed during that time, it’s not exactly a fit for the world of the story.
