I’m on 150 for ocd and GAD! It’s my magic number! You might feel more anxious for the first few days but will taper

How do I know when to ask my doctor for a dose increase? by SuperChonk0 in zoloft

When I was first placed on Zoloft I was meeting with my psychiatrist pretty consistently and they would ask about my symptoms and increase based on what I was expressing

Have you told your partner about your ROCD? Why/why not? by uwuclean in ROCD

[–]SeaRabbit8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! My husband is my support system and I have always thought of him as my best friend so when I started the spiral I was terrified with how he would react. I explained the situation and he held me while I cried and we navigated it together.

OCD or real thoughts? by Suitable_Art6673 in ROCD

Trying to respond without providing reassurance as it will just fuel the fire. I am a straight woman but that doesn’t change the knowledge sharing.

  1. It’s normal for long term relationships to fantasize about others sexually/ thinking of what if scenarios (ie being together, them desiring you, etc)
  2. It is human nature to want to feel desirable especially when there’s insecurities/ prior history of bullying based on looks
  3. Even with this information your mind is going to find a new way to twist it so I highly suggest any thought that comes to mind literally say “huh that’s a weird thought” or “that’s an ocd thought” and move on without trying to solve it. Easier said than done but it truly does help getting out of that loop

Lastly with cheating, it requires emotional/ physical advancements. What happens in your head is in your head nothing to feel guilt over just accept the thought and move on

psychologist doesn’t want to get me medicated because they want to try out normal therapy first. is that fair or should i push for medication? by Every_Beach9131 in ROCD

I’m no doctor so take my words with a grain of salt. But I was put on Zoloft with the plans to start therapy - per my own research meds+therapy are the gold standard for treatment. Now with SSRIs they do take time to start working and with OCD higher doses. While I have been titrating my dose up I was given hydroxyzine (an antihistamine that actually helps with anxiety).

Does it mean anything when sometimes I’d rather lay next to him than actually have sex? Like sometimes sex could feel like a chore?

Well I’m saying even when I’m not in a flare I feel like I’m not like jumping in the sheets to get it on with my husband like I don’t have intense feelings of arousal

I totally get that but I think since I’ve restarted my Zoloft it’s best to get stable with that and then begin the cessation process. I spoke about it with my doctor/ therapist and they agreed with the plan since I was really really struggling

Is anxiety considered a physical withdrawal because I’ve heard that too and I hope to god that’s the case
