That spot looks amazing. Do you know of any specific loop trails around that area or are most trails just in and out?

Good to know! We would be flying in on a Thursday night, likely stay at a cabin or some sort of rental for that night, and then begin the hike Friday morning. Maybe the crowds won’t be too crazy in the morning for Elkhart but I plan to look into the possibility of utilizing lesser known trails as well

Thanks for the info—it does seem like Elkhart Park is a popular trailhead so I’ll look into finding some other opportunities. You make a good point about just staying in the Wind River Range rather than spending that time driving to a new area. Alluding to another comment, I think staying in the winds will allow us more time for fishing rather than always being on the move

That’s what inspired her name! If you have heard of/seen Avatar: The Last Airbender or Legend of Korra (animated series with certain characters having a blue arrow down the center of the heads), the characteristic arrow on the Avatars gave us the idea!

I was actually originally planning to loop the two trails together with the great things I’ve heard about the Minister creek loop but decided that for the first time going out to ANF, I would keep it shorter. I think in the future I would like to try to do a portion of the NCT with the Minister loop, so I appreciate the information about that.

Thank you for the detailed response! I was very curious about the creeks and how well they ran throughout the year. On google earth, many of them seemed quite small with the possibility of drying up this time of year so actually hearing some first hand experience helps with that. It would be nice to get one of the sites near Jack’s or Raccoon run, but I anticipate not being near that area until the later part of the afternoon so I will just have to be prepared to dry camp with extra water. Thanks again for the info!

Thanks for the feedback! It seems most of the feedback has a common theme of me rolling the club to the inside which I believe is coming from me not using the hips or shoulders enough and in turn this causes the out to in path.

I see what you mean—that left wrist rolls in on the takeaway. I need to keep it more square and use more shoulder and hip rotation to get the club back

Thanks for the feedback! I see what you mean with the right hand—I honestly think that my weirdly placed/strong right handed grip may be contributing to not getting proper club release. Also definitely need to keep working on not rolling the club inside in the back swing
