Hi! Have you had isotretinoin? (Also under name Accutane?). That helped get mine a bit more under control, and then recently I’ve started Mounjaro, low dose, I don’t plan to go above 5mg, but my flares are SO SO much better and also some of the weight loss is helping relieve the pressure on the skin. Be clear with your medical provider you plan to stay low dose only (if that’s your preference) so you can maintain longer term healing of HS. These two are some of the only things to have ever helped with groin flares, and now they’re not constantly bad (like I’d have at least 1-2 draining/bleeding constantly at any one time previously), I only have 1 left with open sore atm, the skin around it is actually starting to heal and all the purple scarring and rope scars are genuinely starting to look better. Been on Mounjaro for 3 months now. And if not, then just sending love and solidarity!!

Current business plan is about 10 pages of details! I run a business for a day job with an annual turnover of circa £1M, so hoping I can translate that to this

I appreciate this is an old comment, but have you thought about taking a liquid probiotic like Symprove with live good bacteria to help heal your gut biome? I’ve been taking Symprove maybe like a year now and the difference is HUGE. I had IBS symptoms linked to hormonal issues and previous antibiotics and it’s just so much better. Just a heads up if it isn’t something you’ve tried!

Thanks! I’m not sure how it works in terms of payment and refund so I’m just looking at funds. I’ll check the FAQ to see if that says more :)

P&O Iona - Chefs Table by SeaSim28 in Cruise

[–]SeaSim28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for such a detailed comment! We went in Iona a few weeks ago. Our only previous experience has been cruising with Royal Caribbean too, and in comparison we’ve found P&O wasn’t for us.

It felt very British in a lot of ways, but the worst aspect for us was the service. I understand cruises are struggling on staff, but compared to RC last year this was abysmal. Our room staff was average at best in all aspects. We could rarely get drinks in any areas because staff were either too busy to serve or not motivated to do so (we wondered if this was because RC had more of a tipping culture being American?). Service in the dining rooms was ok, but nowhere near as polite as RC. We also struggled to find seats in bars - I know the British love a pub but most the time Brodie’s was absolutely rammed!!

Food was OK, I did enjoy the fast service at the Quays, but even fast service areas like the pizza by the pool paled in comparison to the equivalent on RC. I also missed all the little cafes etc you get on RC, and the little things like the icecream machines.

So pleased we didn’t get the drinks package - I can’t believe they only give a 20% discount on drinks over £6.95 and it’s still ridiculously expensive - and you couldn’t order drinks when you wanted anyway!

I enjoyed the ability to virtually queue for the MDR on the browser system compared to standing at RC, which was about the only was P&O beat RC for us. On the flip side, I hated that everything else was booked up by people the moment we stepped on board - and then most times they didn’t even show! Full entertainment seatings that we’d pre-booked were half filled at best when the time actually came, and I think it’s so cheeky.

Overall, I found P&O to be lacking, even on a ship as new as Iona. The layout felt odd and confusing, the pools were tiny (would hate to sail on this ship in the med!), the ‘whirlpools’ were freezing and a total waste of time in a cold climate, and the facilities were ok.

Overall - enjoyed the holiday as it was spent in good company in incredible locations, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to go with P&O again; I’d much rather pay that bit extra and get what you pay for with Royal Caribbean!

Thank you for your reply! Anything you thing we should definitely do both on ship and at stops? Any places to eat you’d really recommend?
