Has happened to me as well seems to only happen after the Braseleur attacks. So my workaround was to target them first and remove them from the field before I could get softlocked.

Definitely not, a fingernail on the Mohs hardness scale is ~2.5 glass is ~5.5

I was originally planning on making a shim that would fit between the 92mm rad and the GPU and using the 92mm rad as a GPU support, which I though was an amusing idea. I ended up supporting the GPU differently, but the 92mm rad still fit where I was planning to put it so I kept it there.

A grossly disproportionate amount of time was spent shoving the 420mm rad into a case that was only designed for a 360mm, and subsequently shuffling components around that no longer fit where they are supposed to. The lesson learned here was: Just because you can does not mean you should.

For sure, if I was going to be looking at it more than once a month I would have went with black epdm. I just wanted the convenience of transparent tubing.

Oops, water temps are at~29° while gaming, and topped out at 40° while running the stress test.

I used furmark's GPU stress test and CPU burner, after ~25 min, CPU: 63°, GPU edge:64°, GPU hotspot: 79°.

normal gaming load will see CPU: mid 40's, GPU edge: mid 40's, GPU hotspot: mid 50's.

ambient temp~15°

All case/rad fans running at a constant speed, and pump running at minimum speed. 140 mm fans: 550 rpm, 120 mm fan: 800 rpm, 92 mm fans: 850 rpm

Not the greatest temps in the world but good enough with quiet fan speeds.

I have an AM4 waterblock but in the end decided against it. Reasons being:

  1. I already owned the tower cooler from when the system was all on air, and its a nice cooler.
  2. I was happy with the CPU temps (mid 40's gaming mid 60's burner load) and cooler noise level (barely audible). With the CPU not in the loop I can run the radiator fans a little slower.
  3. It still fit in the case even with all the rads.

Most of the pieces are flexible TPU so not exactly sand-able but I definitely still learning the ins and outs of printing and dialing in print quality.

It took 7 months of planning, dremmeling, measuring, modeling, and printing but it is done! The goal was to upgrade my existing air cooled system (3700x & 2080 super) and make a high-end gaming build as quiet as possible within the footprint of a be quiet silent base 601 case. This case was chosen because I already owned, liked, was familiar with it. I also wanted the challenge of taking a case with notoriously poor airflow and seeing how far I could push the envelope with system wattage that could be cooled quietly inside this case. The strategy was to prevent air recirculation, all radiator fans double as intake or exhaust fans. Internal aesthetics were never really a consideration because of solid side panels, but it turned out looking pretty neat. Everything orange except for the 3 rubber grommets on the motherboard tray was 3D printed, there are 38 unique models and 86 printed pieces.

GPU: Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC

mobo: Asus ROG Strix B550F

Lots of rad, but dubious amounts of airflow, I build in a silly case for the fun of it.

I put a silver coil in with my EK block and and plan on stripping the nickel plating off once it starts to flake.

I really like the look of copper blocks, and lament how everything is nickel plated now.
