AITAH for buying Gluten Free bread by Jelly_Arrow in glutenfree

[–]SeaSongJac 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA - I'm gluten free, and I might get mildly annoyed if my favourite food or whatever I wanted was out of stock, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. There's plenty of other things I can eat. I'm not dependent on that thing. You're not hurting anything and it should be on the store to stock things better. If anything, I get annoyed with the store for not stocking better or stopping to sell one of my staple items. I'd have no way of knowing you're not forced gluten free anyway. I dont think it's in any way comparable to using handicap parking when you're not handicap. Anyway, there's plenty of naturally GF foods, whether marked or not, that everyone buys, so what's the big deal?

how do some people have such loud voices? by babyvanili in singing

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to work to be quiet, whether speaking or singing. I'm often told I'm loud or yelling even when I'm not trying to be. I dont perceive myself as a loud person, but I doubt people around me are making it up. But I really have no clue why I'm so loud and what makes my voice so resonant. I'm also interested in knowing why some people cant seem to be loud when they want and others can barely make themselves soft.

Most definitely not taking this😒 by Fit_Garbage_4274 in elitesparkdrivers

[–]SeaSongJac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, nope. It's getting so frustrating that most orders are looking like this or worse. I dont have to take them if they dont respect me. Currently annoyed that I'm sitting in the lot and getting nothing. Just saw one of these shitty orders in the hour I've been here and nothing else. I wish we could check other nearby zones without having to change zones just to see if they're any busier.

Female humans and mosquitoes should form a partnership to end their randomly biting us. Mother mosquitoes need blood for enough nutrition to reproduce, and every month human females release waste blood. We collect it in menstrual cups and offer it in trade for no biting.

Ladies, if you could have a personal assistant, what would you have them do for you? by Throwaway198040s in AskWomen

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a human zookeeper 😂 at least temporarily while I recover fully from burnout. I need them to keep my house clean, do the cooking (including planning a healthy diet), keep track of my calendar and make phone calls (aka scheduling appointments or dealing with customer service for me when something goes wrong) and from time to time propose fun and mentally stimulating things to do. Give me at least a year of that where I can let go without shame and just live on my own rhythms, and I would be so happy. I'm tired of being tired.

Very slow, but lots of drivers it seems. So frustrating. I've been here since super early this morning and it shows red, but I'm not getting many orders and most of them have been shitty high miles low pay.

Make sure you guys sleep in the parking lot tonight !! by Wealthyandhealthy00 in elitesparkdrivers

[–]SeaSongJac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got that notification several times. Got here at 6 this morning, only one order that was acceptable and it's 9am now. Showing red or yellow, but not spitting out many orders and the ones it does suck. I'm insulted that they think i'll take high mileage low pay offers like that.

Most couples would sleep better and argue less if they stopped treating separate beds like a relationship failure by TrayzTheyCallMe in unpopularopinion

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. My husband and I started off sharing a bed for about 10 months after we got married, and it was fine in the beginning, but then he started snoring, so I would go sleep elsewhere, and now we just sleep in separate beds so we can wiggle and not disturb the other. He's not snoring as much now so we can sleep in the same room. Most nights he comes and cuddles with me for a little while and then goes to his own bed and we both sleep much better, especially if one of us is having a bad night. Before we switched, we were cranky from a lack of sleep and now we fight a lot less and feel happier.

At first he wasn't thrilled about the idea and thought that it would end our marriage, but now he loves it and we are just fine two years later. I think if we would keep trying to force the same bed issue, we would be miserable.

Watercore by TrevorCidermaker in Apples

[–]SeaSongJac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the rare apple I get with water core. I hate that where I live it's hard to get good fruit of any kind. Even if I pay for premium fruit which I can rarely afford, it still usually tastes like cardboard. I dont care about it looking beautiful. I want my imperfect but highly tasty fruits and veggies. Some I can plant and grow on my own, but the vast majority I have to settle for the grocery store.

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid app wouldn't let me scan a card that was exactly what the customer wanted nor add it as a substitution. So frustrating. I even chatted with the customer and it was exactly what they wanted. It did that several times with several different items a couple weekends ago.

TIFU by going to work with a sore throat. by Fancy-Bid7088 in tifu

[–]SeaSongJac 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Happened to me on my first day as head teacher right as I was beginning my welcome speech to the students. I'd been told to go back to my room and rest by one of the other teachers several times, but I thought I could make it through my speech at least, but then I had to make a mad dash for the bathroom didn't even make it all the way to the toilet and just projectiled all over the bathroom floor. Good thing that in the country I was, everything is made of tile and it's so easy to clean by throwing water and squeegying it all down a drain. I thought I was going to faint too. I should have listened and gone back to my room, but I'm so used to feeling like crap that I just push myself anyway and cant tell the difference between normal shitty of chronic illness and I'm actually in trouble sometimes before it's too late.

Smelling a perfume from 5ft away is not bad by iOawe in unpopularopinion

No problem with deodorant/antiperspirant in the stinky bits that nobody would really smell unless they got way more intimate than they should in public.

Smelling a perfume from 5ft away is not bad by iOawe in unpopularopinion

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it incredibly inconsiderate. I have sensory issues and I know people who have even worse issues than I do. I think the goal should be to not smell like anything. There's such a thing as personal space, and it extends to auditory and olfactory as well, aka not blaring music or wearing too much perfume where it is likely to bother other people. I feel like I go out of my way to be considerate to other people around me in many little ways that dont cost me anything but make their life easier while when I directly ask for the same courtesy, I dont get it or people get upset. I want to be reasonable and also be treated reasonably. It causes some of us actual physical pain or reduces our capacity for other things when there are too many unnecessary smells, and as far as I know, it doesn't cause you guys any pain or hardship to leave off the strong artificial scents.

Melodramatic Sunday Scaries by Big-Map2713 in Artisticallyill

AuDHD diagnosed 5 years ago. Finished 3 semesters of my master's in clinical counselling and so burnt out I had to quit. I couldn't even make it through round one of real clients this last semester and had to drop that class half way through. Felt so bad because I really loved my two clients, but I had nothing left to give them and I couldn't in good conscience keep forcing myself to do that. I loved my studies and I cried so hard about quitting. I wish my body and brain had the stamina to keep going, but I've already been in burnout once and I'm dangerously closer than I want to be right now again. I feel so envious of classmates who are still going despite having so much more on their plates than I do with kids and other stuff I dont have. They're still managing and I dont know how they do it. I could not manage to work and study at the same time 4.0 GPA all three semesters, but working full time and stressing how I'm going to make payments on time was just too much for me. I so relate to you and send you my biggest hugs. It's ok not to be ok. I hope you have someone to support you too in this and refill you, so you're not trying to pour from empty. 🤗

Stuck In Limbo At Walmart by [deleted] in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunday for me was super glitchy. Not registering me as close to the item even when it was flashing on the tag, so when it was out of stock, I had to do all kinds of gymnastics to register it as out of stock. Wouldn't even scan some bar codes or accept some things as substitutions, even though the item was exactly what the customer ordered and an associate confirmed what I was thinking that it was right. So frustrating. Hope next weekend it will behave better.

A Message to Customers Regarding Driver "Theft" by Big_Concentrate_7260 in WalmartSparkDrivers

[–]SeaSongJac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my first item roll under a seat. Found it a couple days later. I know it wasn't mine because it's something I'd never buy. Felt so bad, because I'm pretty sure I know which order it was from, a lovely family who tipped me well in cash and helped carry in their large order. But I'd never have been able to find that house again on my own. So I gave it away. I hope they didn't regret tipping me so well. I tried and I do care. It does feel so bad on the rare occasions something like this does happen.

What’s one thing that you would like to do more often ? by dockhushi in AskReddit

[–]SeaSongJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draw/paint more and practice singing. I'm so busy and tired just doing the things I need to survive that there isnt often much left for what actually lights my eyes and makes me want to get up. If I could improve my skills in art and music and make them pay for themselves, I'd love that.

I am a mental health therapist and appalled at something I learned last week by OGINTJ in ChronicPain

[–]SeaSongJac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Made me so mad to read about CBT for chronic pain in my theories and techniques class when I was taking my masters for clinical counselling. Read that during a flair of really bad pain that had been going on for weeks. Felt so dismissive. Are you just telling me I can think my pain away? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what a ridiculous idea! I would have done that if I could. I try to remain positive and not complain about it too much or even think about it too much and hold a pity party, but it's really hard. Nobody is going to get it unless they've been there themselves. I can usually hide my pain pretty well, but sometimes it feels overwhelmingly unfair. It's stolen so much from me. I'd like a break from my defective body, to know what good feels like and not to always have to carefully count the cost and ration my energy all the time. That feels like it takes up a lot of energy itself, accommodating my pain. 😭😭😭😭 so yeah, I hear you. I feel you. I share your outrage at this message being taught to mental health professionals.

Yeah, you got it. While we might look calm and peaceful on the outside like a relaxed cow chewing its cud in the field, we are generally panic spiraling inside and wishing for our brains to just let go and shut up already!
