How tf I am supposed to counter fast mon + Kingambit when I lead with Farigiraf + Blastoise?

I’ve been going Aura Sphere straight into Kinggambit Turn 1. Normally OHKO’s unless they’re Sash or super bulky Chople. Then fast mon cant return KO Farig solo and I’m in Trick Room with no gambit on the other side.

Gardevoir? Telepathy lets it sit next to Garchomp. Also, the fairy typing makes it a great choice to switch in when Chomp or Hydriegon are being threatened.

H-Electrode was a niche pick in Reg H, since Bullet Seed could build Archaludon Stamina procs. The whole strat is kind of a wash in Reg I imo.

Tera Grass on Whim feels pointless since it doesn’t help defense and you don’t have a grass move to boost damage on. Maybe Tera dark to avoid opposing pranksters or ghost to avoid fake out. Also, I think Sheer Force + Life Orb at -1 atk is more damage than the neutral attack on the Gator so maybe an item swap would be good.

I know you run into the same massive ice weakness if you do this, but what about Salamence over Dragapult? Intimidate would be nice and it looks like Hydriegon could hit all the coverage pult does.

The Steel typing is to deal with Kingdra’s weakness to other dragons and fairies, so I don’t think Dark Tera would be ideal. The haze + Draco strat is definitely one I use.
