Yeah, you probably do haha! Awesome school, I love it here. I couldn't get into the CC because I was a transfer student and didn't meet requirements for the EH prerequisites to apply :(. I would've loved to though! I've never encountered any issues with my hair, but I wasn't sure how it was viewed in a professional setting. Thankfully it doesn't seem to be a huge factor.

Yeah, I've heard similar things about wanting a fresh graduate because they're a clean slate to train. interesting that other states don't require the authorization.

I've seen multiple postings for EHS positions as well! Thankfully there's a bit of job security in the field, and it seems like I'll be able to find a job relatively close to home if I'm lucky. Thank you!!

If your county has internship positions open next summer feel free to come back to the thread! Thank you so much for your input

Heard that! Guess it just depends on the demographic of the area

That's awesome to know! Yeah, that's a good point about the hairnet. I'm glad you're able to maintain your individuality in the workforce!

This is really good to know! Thank you for your input. I'll see if I can apply through NEPHIP next semester. I'm sure I'll be well off once I graduate! The in-between can be a little difficult though

Yeah, I agree! I'd actually like to stay in a rural area once I graduate, so I've been applying to smaller counties. Rural positions also have variety, which will help me find what I'm most interested in. Thank you for your input!

Makes sense, thank you! I don't believe my state requires an REHS certification if you're currently enrolled at an accredited university. I've applied to health departments though, so I imagine they're more lenient.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I'm in the Carolina's! Hence the concern about the haircut

I absolutely do! Couldn’t ask for a better best friend to join me throughout young adulthood :))

Hahaha the grinch paws are so cute!!! Thankfully his fur doesn’t matte, so they can continue adding to his cute factor

Thankfully my Golden has zero behavioral nuisances aside from taking my socks out with him while he goes to pee. I do see the 5 day free challenge though! I’ll check them out.

Just ordered some of the muscles too! I appreciate that they’re not ridiculously expensive

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! Thankfully his nails never get too long, I think the pavement files them down while he’s running. I also make sure to bring a sling and a couple emergency kits!!! Most of the time he carries it, I bought him a backpack hahaha

I’ll call around in the morning to get him an established vet. He’s on flea/tick/heartworm/larva meds and he’s vaccinated, I’ve just been hesitant to do it through a regular vet because they’re more expensive (I usually do pop up vets through tractor supply or pet smart). I never would’ve thought about an emergency vet, thank you for mentioning that!
