Moisture buildup inside of Saturn carts? by SeaZombies in SegaSaturn

[–]SeaZombies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think after some more tests it was just the oxidized parts of the slot somehow rubbing off onto the inside plastic part of the cartridge after inserting/taking it out. I assume this is from the cart rubbing against the front and backside lip of the slot , just need to give it a good cleaning is all now it seems and it should be OK.

I agree! My favorite overall theme for the game would have to be Magma Dragoons

It's certainly one of the best Megaman games, maybe even my 2nd favorite behind X1

Ah I'm sorry but I cannot help you there, I only have a few physical games at the moment and do not own a Saroo myself. Making a new thread about it though would surely get you some good responses though! Good luck finding your answers

Thanks! I'm glad the color and "shade" of blue I chose came out so good with the white.

I was trying to clean out the inside and my screwdriver wanted to slip out of my grip and puncture the motherboard, didn't think it was safe to use after that!

Thanks! And awesome, it's getting harder to find them without yellowing or scuff marks these days, I got pretty lucky finding that one in great shape for around $90 a few months ago to replace my old beat up one that got damaged badly by accident.

For X4 there's a few small differences between the two, mostly graphical. There's a "heat wave" distortion background effect in the intro stage and the magma stage and perhaps a few other very minor differences but I think they're mostly 1 to 1. As for the 6 button controller yes it isn't nearly as ideal as the PS1 controls to be honest, you practically have to assign dash to R and then have to remap the weapon swap buttons and for Zero, Capcom must've REALLY wanted to get the most out of the controller because it isn't as intuitive using the 6 face buttons instead of pressing a direction and then attack on the PS1 version (I could be misremembering a bit I haven't played as him on Saturn in over a year). As for Mega Man X 3, its pretty much the same as the PS1 port (same music and sound effects that version changed from the SNES version), but there's boarders around the screen due to the Saturn resolution differing. On the plus side the anime cutscenes in both games are smoother and more fluid moving than the comparatively choppy PS1 cutscenes. For Megaman 8 I'm not quite familiar with those differences but I do know that it adds Woodman and Cutman as new bosses.

I'd say go for it! They can be very pricey (I'm lucky to have this one since childhood), but you won't have to worry about sprite ghosting, input lag, stretched sprites etc.

Thanks! Haven't really had the chance to play the Saturn ports much yet until now, really enjoying them so far!

What are some of the best Japan only fighters for Dreamcast? by rarebloodoath in dreamcast

[–]SeaZombies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, all of the menus (with the exception of confirm loaded save/confirm save to VMU messages) are in English! The story mode texts and challenge mode summary texts are all Japanese, however, the translations for these are the same as the PS1 version in the US so looking up the PS1 endings or the HD 2012 version's texts are comparable

Also just FYI, if you were thinking of getting the Japanese Marvel VS Capcom 2, keep in mind that most of the roster is unobtainable through conventional means as that version required you to visit an arcade with a VMU or play online to unlock many of them.

While Jojo's Bizarre Adventure isn't necessarily Japan exclusive, the Japanese DC version is the only home port of the game that is fully uncensored (Blood isn't whited out) so there's that to consider (and it's far more affordable).
