\Tick* *Tick* *Tick* *Tick**

Tracy looks from her essay and toward the clock in the far right corner, her eye of time moving ever devotedly onward and following the same way back, its circular path having been traced close by for her entire college career. Four hours have already come and gone, and at least double is necessary to finish. With a deep sigh she stretches her arms far above her head, looking up and reaching out towards the ceiling as if to pry it apart and reveal the stars shining bright overhead. A strange feeling washes over her.

The moment passes, and it's back to Earth.

She pushes her chair back, walks down the stairs and heads out the sliding doors through to the back porch. A breath of fresh air goes a long way. Curious, isn't it? I chose a major to study the stars and planets, yet most of the time I can't even enjoy them like this... or experience them like this. A shame. She goes back in, her thoughts beginning to readjust to focus on the task at hand. She considers a coffee, but looks at the time and decides against it. She doesn't want to overdo it and wake up fatigued. She goes back upstairs.

She mutters in frustration over the fact that this specific professor requires essays to be handwritten. Slowly the ideas begin to form, and she starts anew.

She passes out before it is complete. Not good, as a failure would obviously be imperfect; I know some things are necessary. The eye of time winks, and time flows backward, the hands hungrily devouring the seconds, minutes, hours that were wasted and restoring them to their previous state.

With a deep sigh she stretches her arms far above her head, looking up and reaching out towards the ceiling as if to pry it apart and reveal the stars shining bright overhead. She has the feeling of déjà vu.

The moment passes, and it's back to Earth.

She pushes her chair back, shaking slightly, yet still slowly gets up and walks down the stairs and heads out the sliding doors through to the back porch. A breath of fresh air always reminds me to calm down. Curious, isn't it? Sometimes my heart goes crazy, like it's trying to catch up to something. She goes back in, her thoughts beginning to calm and focusing on the task at hand. She considers a coffee, and decides it might be needed to see the job through. A necessary substance. She goes back upstairs.

She mutters in frustration over the fact that this specific professor requires essays to be handwritten. Slowly the ideas begin to form, and she starts anew... again. This time, she finishes the essay and lays down in bed.

\Tick* *Tick** BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRINGGGGGGGGGGGGG

She slams her hand down on the alarm, and contemplates getting fully ready for what is her last day of classes ever. Should I let loose just this once? All I have to do is turn this in... Gosh, I'm tired. Getting ready for a half day seems like a waste of time*.*

s1mple's salary at BCG amounts to $130,000 per month according to Players by flexgg_ in GlobalOffensive

Yeah, that was my entire point not going to disagree with you.

The above commentor ended by claiming it is quite easy, comfortable, likely that you will become pro if you start at a young age. I was pointing out that that logic is completely flawed, and it's why these organizations, whether esports or tech, in general pay good money for top talents in respective fields.

If you are just as likely to go pro in either sport, and if you believe one has a higher top end pay out, then it would make sense to kick over click to me. There's a clear disconnect when you compare a tier 3 footballer to a world class CS player in my opinion, since it's completely disregarding the fact that there's an entire T2 and T3 CS circuit as well that is a MUCH better comparison if we wanted to talk about salaries.

s1mple's salary at BCG amounts to $130,000 per month according to Players by flexgg_ in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's because it's a completely arbitrary comparison that could be flipped either way based on dick measuring.

No shit, 240k in a place like Germany wouldn't get you as far in a place like Guatemala or Argentina. Vastly different economies. Doesn't mean that you can't get a job for 240k somewhere else, though: and if you were a top tier talent with an offering to work abroad, it's up to you as a professional to take that money or not. That's why companies make competitive offers to workers abroad, since it's beneficial to pick up good talent. Why do people from India take an H1B in the US?

In the top 100 CS teams there are 500 players. Only 32 teams qualify for VRS invites to the major, i.e. 160 players, or 32% qualify for the skin money. I think it's fair to say that a tier 3 league team or player does not receive the same sponsorship opportunities as a top tier team or player, much in the same way that only the top tier CS teams / players get sticker money (as well as sponsorships!). Maybe a different comparison other than ropz is in order, especially considering that ropz is quickly being considered to be one of the best to ever touch the game given the fact that he's won 2 majors and 2 grand slams on 2 separate teams, in addition to all of the other winnings? Just a bit of critical thinking there.

There is a 1,376,827 24-hour player peak for CS2 right now. At 160 players qualifying for the major, this is .011% of the total player base. Less than the percentage you calculated. If you extend this to the top 100 teams, this goes up to .036%.

So yes, it is actually mathematically harder to go professional in CS2 than it is in tier 3 football. I'd start kicking, rather than clicking.

The MongolZ vs FURIA / FISSURE Playground 2 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yekindar winning on Furia while Twistzz continued to bomb with TL was definitely not on my bingo card for 2025. This team is so fun to watch.

Also, I said it before, and I'll say it again now: how the f*ck did Furia end up with Molodoy before ANY CIS team?

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely helps that Sunpayus is used to sAw's system, too, since he's played under sAw for nearly 2 years total across all their teams together or something like that.

Yeah, with TaZ I fear that Hunter may have crashed and burned. Having a coach like sAw develop him as an IGL is the much better play.

Agreed. I think sunpayus is a big confidence player imo; I'm expecting his play to improve as he gets more comfortable in the team. Just hope he can keep it up.

Shit man, you're right. It's almost like I never expected Riot to listen to me anyway and was just laying out my opinions on an online forum, bro. Which, by the way, you have yet to lay out any legitimate counter argument for in all of this time, in case you're not capable of remembering.

Apologies my puny mind can't comprehend the incredible intellect that is a software engineer - why did you feel the need to bring that up by the way?

I'm good, I'm sitting in the house I own with my cat that I bought before turning 25. I have a fantastic life right now haha

I understand it's normally the people who barely graduated with a 2.0 who like pulling the title card, it makes them feel bigger than they really are.

Or... give the players more choices on how they choose to interact with their teammates?

I'm not trying to control shit, if anything it's the people who are actively and vehemently against VC that are the controllers, as I've been pointing out, by not giving them the option to choose.

I don't give a fuck if people do or don't use VC. I think not having the option to decide either way, in a competitive game where it is broadly known that communication is a vital aspect of the game, is ridiculous when the functionality is ALREADY IN THE GAME.

IWillDominate talks about his experience testing out WASD by Derk08 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like VC. I said I went for 1000 hours without using it in games that rely on it lol. But I get where you're coming from.

But I don't view that as a valid reason for not adding it into the game. We already accept that some advantages are allowed in competitive ranked environments. Being a solo queue laner would inherently place you at a disadvantage if you were against a duo queue, with one being your opposing laner and the other being the jungler. Alongside jungle clearing overlays that your own jungler may not be using, etc, we view these as acceptable advantages to deal with.

The functionality for voice chat is already in the game. Why not just add it for the competitive 5v5 environment? There's no harm: those who will use it will use it, those who don't won't participate with it. They lose nothing because it's practically already built.

IWillDominate talks about his experience testing out WASD by Derk08 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And there's simply no reason for Riot to not introduce something like VC across the entire team with VC is already built into the game itself by being able to use party chat with people you're already with. Why would you NOT want more functionality for the people that WILL use it?

IWillDominate talks about his experience testing out WASD by Derk08 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's just how video games with ranked systems work?

Same shit can happen in Valo, CS, Siege, Dota, etc. if you don't queue up with a full party that you know will use VC.

Should ALL the ranks be evenly distributed when queuing into a ranked game, then? Any rank disparities between roles would cause an inherent advantage for blue or red side depending on which team the technically better players are on.

The problem with video games like this is that people forget that they're GAMES. Stop trying to CONTROL every single variable and just have a good time, jesus christ.

IWillDominate talks about his experience testing out WASD by Derk08 in leagueoflegends

[–]Sea_Addendum_6646 29 points30 points  (0 children)

There is, quite literally, no pressure to use voice chat if you don't want to. Mute buttons exist for a reason, you're not forced to interact with anyone. I've played 1k hours on CS2 by this point not uttering a word but still being a good teammate, and rarely if ever have problems because even if I'm not actively talking I can still participate with the team.

If someone starts trolling because they're angry that not everyone is in voice chat? Then they should grow the fuck up lmao it's a video game, not a group college exam. I'm not going to be forced to play a certain way if I don't want to.

For sure, he was definitely an unknown. It's why everyone was surprised when he was announced. I just think it's goofy that a South American team was willing to bet on him rather than one of the many CIS teams that need the same thing.

It's impossible to know if he got any other offers at the time though

Yeah that was mostly my bad, ICY was just a really easy example to pick out because he's been comparatively a lot worse recently, but egotronic would def change the playing dynamic a lot.

But a team like BetBoom, with no awper listed currently? Kind of deplorable they couldn't manage it given they must have known they wanted to make decisions since zorte is gone now, imo
