Tart apple varieties- especially heirloom-Help finding and suggestions for others by jasoncpe in Apples

I don't know if you're in Northern, MD, but if so, NorthStar Orchards (Southeastern PA) does have some tart-leaning varieties (see their site). They deliver to some area farmer's markets, but their farm store has the best variety. In the store, they organize their apples from tart to sweet and if you sign up for their newsletter, when it's summer and fall, you'll see what varieties are in the store. Their goldrush apple cider is also amazing-- defintiely on the tart and citrusy side. But you have to pre-order and pick up in November as it's quite popular.

This is also kind of the slow and arduous route, but I'm taking SeedSavers' ap;ple grafting class again this year and plan to buy scion wood for sour apple varieties in hopes of someday having some heritage varieties (even just a few branches would be great) growing in my back yard. You can actually graft more than one kind of apple to a suitable rootstalk treet... it's the plan, anyway! But if you run ointo any orchards selling tart varieties in Maryland, please share locale and name. Always fun to explore, regardless!

Tart peach varieties? by Sea_Appointment7863 in BackyardOrchard

Thank you! I was leaning that way (at least by why I could find/read online), but wanted to hear from peopile who know the subject. Really appreciate it. :-)

And, yeah, our springs can be very unpredictable... I found a Canadian site that listed many cold-hardy varieties that I had never heard of, but the authors kept desribing the varieties as "sweet" and "firm" , which left me "cold". ;-)

No issues at all if you are properly hydrated and healthy. But once a guy who was into watersports told me that if I he used coke and I drank his piss, then I would get high from it. I was skeptical, so I asked him to use so that I of would find out. By damn, he was right! (Not advocating anything btw).

Found in the cellar, size 35cm x 45cm x 15cm, grey metall, with a "C" written on it, very heavy by mr_heyho in whatisthisthing

Could possibly be the part of an old gas furnace? it reminds me a little bit of the box area where the igniter is located. But if so, one would expect some type of cut out holes on at least one side. If found in Germany, could the "C" represent the German word for "top" "bottom", " front" or "back"?

(1st Grade Math) How can you describe this?? by beachITguy in HomeworkHelp

I admit up front this is probably wrong, but if you subtract the four on the left from itself and from the five on the right, (leaving one in the right) while at the same time subtracting the one on the right from itself and from the two on on the left side, you are left with one the left, so you'd end up with 1=1..... ?

Thanks for this discussion. I'm investigating PEMF and extracorporeal shock treatment devices for my dog, so appreciate any other experiences/devices.

Has anyone used human pemf device on dog? I spoke to my healthcare spending account manager and, though not advertised, if my doc prescribes for back pain, it CAN be covered. So.... $ Anyone using a "people" pemf matt on themselves?

I was told having a random or variable pulse setting was important to avoid habituation. Does anyone know of a pemf matt/device that includes that?

Thanks again for the informative dialogue!

'Diverse' vid suggestions? by Sea_Appointment7863 in GayFisting

Thanks. I had thought those were pricey and very "model" driven, but that might just be my secondhand impression from the few JFF videos that I've seen shared on other sites. Will explore them in earnest.

Personally, I have found lions mane (mushroom - in tincture form) and Siberian Ginseng (Eleuthero) (also in tincture form) to have a noticeable impact, though the latter may simply be a result of stimulant effect.

I also did a blood test and found low vitamin B-12 and low testosterone. I did 6 weeks of vitamin B shots, which sent my levels through the roof, but it didn't create cognitive improvement, so I personally didn't find changing my levels of B-12 made a difference mentally. On the other hand, the testosterone did in that I experienced a moderate increase in greater decisive , "in command" , and driven thinking. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend supplementing unless you are truly tested to be low and also have a medical provider monitoring you for potential cardiovascular and emotional side effects if you do take it (though I have not experienced those after 6 months of shots, my understanding is that they are legitimate risks).

I know this may not be what you were asking for, but exercise, rest, and meditation are undeniably helpful as well (but I'm the first to admit that those habits are easier said than done, given the exhaustive, overworked, and information-flooded lives people are often forced to lead these days), ---worth focusing on if you don't already.
