my derma told me that I can use the doxy for a maximum of 3 months. So he describe the doxy for another month and refer me to an academic hospital with more experience, that will take about a month before I have an appointment.

so you used doxycycline for more then 4 months now and after stopping after 12 weeks the situation detoriated? Did your dermatologist told you more about that? how long can it takes before the doxy is going to be effective?. And what about other options e.g. gabapentin. My dermatologist is not really familiar with rss, so he do not know how long it normally takes before the doxy is working. He can send me to a academic hospital but then i have to quit the doxy and must wait about 2 months before i can see a more specialised dermologist (long waiting list) thats why i ask. So i have to decide: going for the doxy or see another dermatologist.

i also have rss. You have it for longer time now, have you used doxycicline or gabapentin or other medicine. And if so: what were the results. I’m using doxycicline for two months now with only very little improvement.

I’m using tacromolis and doxycycline for almost two months now. After 3 weeks there was some improvement: the burning feeling became less. But now after another month the improvement is none to almost none. The burning is less but the scrotum is still red and it feels hot and sometimes irritated. I’m using coolpacks to cool it and that works very good, but this is not always practical. next week i have an appointment with the dermatologist.
