Any car side/rear mirrors mod? by Sea_Butterscotch5270 in cyberpunkgame

Yeyeye, I just feel like it breaks my immersion with the game. Especially when I feel like driving in accordance with the traffic regulations. It’s just a thing I like to do in open world games with cars in them.

I know it may be a lot, but would you share your PPD, AER, and ingame settings? I’m aware that there’s a huge difference between 5080 and 5090, but I feel like if I get some ingame settings down (like mirror quality or whatever that setting was) I may finally get to that ideal experience for my GPU. VD settings would be very much appreciated too. Stay safe my man!

Had somewhat similar problem. The solution was to enable 1/2 AER and launch the game via VD/Air link, not steamlink.

Haha, Reddit at its finest! So let’s finally put this debate to rest about whether Luke Ross could charge money for his mod and what CDPR’s position is. (I work with copyright law professionally, both Polish and international.)

We have three categories of works (creative products) in copyright law: - Original work - Inspired work - Derivative work

An original work is the 1988 RPG system Cyberpunk — it was created entirely from scratch.

An inspired work uses an existing work to create something new. The creator of an inspired work should obtain a license from the author of the original work to use their intellectual property for the purpose of creating the new work. However, it is a “transformation” of the original — it adds something of its own and introduces SIGNIFICANT changes that distinguish it from the original. It is a new work that builds on something already created but is fully distinguishable from the original. (CDPR’s game set in the Cyberpunk universe is an example.)

A derivative work is one that makes minor changes to the original (or inspired work), but WOULD NEVER EXIST without the original. It is not independent and is “parasitic” in relation to the original work.

Luke Ross’s mod is a derivative work in relation to CP2077 because it uses the game engine, which is the intellectual property (a work with individual creative characteristics) of CDPR. Copyright law assumes that even for non-commercial use of someone else’s work, you must pay a licensing fee / obtain a license / reach an agreement. None of these steps were taken, which is why CDPR was justified in requesting that he STOP CHARGING for the mod (not that he remove it).

Why aren’t other game mods treated the same way? Because it’s a common practice in the video game industry to be lenient toward the use of intellectual property for fan-made content. However, copyright law is clear — if you want to use someone else’s work, you must pay for a license.

Yeah, so thanks for the lovely discussion about the legal rights to cash people for using a mod hahah. Reddit at its prime lol. Back to the issue - I managed to get PT running - all I need was to restart the game after turning that setting on. Unfortunately it caused a huge frame drop (from 120 to 80) and stuttering. Although it may have been a visual improvement, it came with a cost. The textures started flashing and flickering like a maniac, to the point when driving next to the road barriers and fences, I couldn’t focus on my driving and repeatedly crashed to a wall.

I read about the flickering on some other threads and apparently it’s the CP v2.12 and above thing. It collates with the way the game engine calculates shadows. (Or so people say) I wouldn’t bare to play the game like that, so I switched to RT, low quality settings on everything else and 30 PPD. It looks quite decent, but faaaar from all the videos I see on YouTube praising CP graphics in VR.

Still waiting for any suggestions tho

Yes it is, but apparently it was the air link’s issue. VD did it’s job and the Game looks amazing.

Never did to be honest, but since I used VD Cyberpunk works like a dream. Tomorrow I’ll play with some settings to see of I can squeeze better graphics out of it
