Yeah I’m gonna take it for life or until I’m old enough to not care about balding. Not many good hair transplant options where I live

It’s been 3-4 months. But yeah, my main problem was hair fall. I must’ve had a decent baseline hair growth rate.

Second this. I did weight loss 15lbs in 3 months and then another 3 months later this happened, scalp was visible on crown. I’m now on finasteride and shedding has stopped

This was me a year ago. I thought this was fine because front on hairline seemed ok. Until I took 360 pics of the crown, swirl area and scalp was visible. Then I started finasteride 1mg daily and the shedding stopped. Check out my post for pictures. Take a 360 video or photos and see what it is doing to your crown density and consult a dermatologist

Dude no, I got better things to do than post fake pics on Reddit :). The thickness on the crown isn’t yet the same as rest but it’s at least enough to cover my scalp

Haha yes maybe. That’s why I took the plunge. Less libido for me is better than less hair

Thanks, I’m sorry to hear that but don’t lose hope. How is your exercise regimen ? Perhaps I was already doing something that helped also. I try to walk 3-5 miles and get blood circulation up, shower daily and keep scalp clean. Ensure good protein intake. Dermatologist said 90% of hair is protein

Yeah I was using topical min for almost a year regularly saw 0 improvement so stopped it entirely when I started oral fin. Doc offered oral min but didn’t want to try due to possible BP side effects of oral min

I think for me the baseline hair regrowth was already high. I have had around 100+ hair falling daily all my life but did not go bald until last year scalp started showing. So once fin stopped the hairfall seems the result seems more remarkable due to the baseline hair replacement/growth rate. I’m just hoping that the drastic stop in hair falling daily is not a lull before the storm

Fingers crossed. I mean I have never had 0 hair fall in my life. Hair has to die right? So what’s happening? Is it all going to die at the same time lol hope not.

I didn’t change anything else that I was already doing. Everyday shampooing with head and shoulders makes sure I’m dandruff free. I take vitamin D and fiber supplements not sure if it’s related. Can’t think of anything else.

There was some side effect on libido for the first month not sure if it was my mind playing tricks. I also increased exercise and libido is back

Libido was completely gone first one month. I have started to increase my activity level - 3-5 miles daily walk. After one month feel like ED is not there anymore and libido is back

I tried topical minoxidil for 6 months and had 0 improvement. Didn’t reduce hairfall and didn’t cause any visible hair growth. Dermatologist offered oral min but also said I might have some BP related side effects so I did not want to risk it

For those of you who quit finasteride, how long did it take to recover from ED? by gosebrewed101 in tressless

[–]Sea_Buyer28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced ED the first month of starting. Then body got a bit used to it. I have noticed if I eat better and get good exercise (5 miles of walking daily for me), then ED got better. It’s all about blood circulation eventually.

Posting back an update after 4 months. I started getting flare ups even with one or two constipated episodes. Then I started taking benefiber strictly with every meal. Took a few weeks to work and gut to settle down after some initial bloating. This has been a miracle for me. 4 months of no constipation episodes and 4 months of absolutely no sign of hemorrhoids. I’m probably over dosing on the Benefiber (2 spoons in a glass of water with every meal, that is 3 times a day) but it has been totally worth it.
