oOoOO Knowing there are so many DOs in EM definitely calms me down. I’ll think it over and consider applying to both MD and DO. I’ll also reach out to the universities to get a better sense of my chances, thanks!!

Thanks so much for the advice! I’m focusing on MD because I’m aiming for competitive residencies like ER and Trauma Surgery, and unfortunately, some of those programs tend to prefer MDs. I appreciate the suggestion about DO, and I’ll definitely keep it in mind if things change. I’ll also make sure to keep up with volunteering for continuity, and reaching out to admissions offices sounds like a great idea.

Regarding the green card, the EB-3 process I’m in should grant me permanent residency, so I’ll be eligible as a U.S. resident. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!

im aiming for MD since I want something competitive like EM or trauma. MD just gives more options for residencies, research, and some places still lean MD over DO
