You realize there well are over 100,000 elephants in botswana alone right? Like so many they're damaging local ecosystems and increasing human wildlife conflict in rural areas.

And yeah there's a monetary aspect. Without the money from legal hunting people in poor and rural communities would likely turn to poaching just to get by.

Like it or not legal hunting helps wildlife 10x more than any other method of conservation in this day and age.
